Doug 's Bio
Born in Montgomery, AL.
Raised in Pittsburgh, PA.
Grew up in Birmingham, AL.
I have loved sports for as long as I can remember. Played multiple sports growing up through high school. Always thought I would have made a better coach than a player. I currently attend Auburn University looking to major in business but really just want to be on ESPN one day.
Trying to stay objective, in a subjective world.

Tell me what you think about Gene Chizik, and his reserved tactics....

Yeah, I heard those rumors a few weeks ago. A friend of mine writes for a sports monthly here in Pittsburgh, and she told me she got a tip about it. I don't know if Pedro is really interested or if he's using them as leverage. The upside is, he could reunite with Joe Kerrigan, who brought the best out of him in his career. Maybe the Pirates will see where their rotation is by the end of Spring Training and then decide if they want to make a move. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Hey Doug, good to run into a fellow Bucco fan (we're few and far between around these parts). And I love the Van Slyke reference on favorite athletes. I used to slide on my parents' carpet like I was Slick making diving catches on the turf at Three Rivers. I even got to play there once before it closed. Me and my friends tried to jump through the right-center field wall like Turner Ward!
Anyway, good stuff about Auburn football. Hopefully they get a quality coach down there to replace Tuberville. I always thought he was a good coach and a character guy, and Auburn has a great tradition there. The fans and students deserve a guy who will commit to keeping that going, and hopefully he'll be given fair treatment in the process.
Good luck with school, and good luck with your Tigers next year!

No problem Doug!

Thanks for the recognition Doug. I'm not sure which team will win; but I'm quite sure Saban could take Urban Crier in a street fight where there are no timeouts. : )
Enjoy your stuff. Keep up the good work.

Na I don't see Jimbo Fisher leaving. I mean he is going to be a head coach next year at Florida State. Houston Nutt might be good, but unlikely. I mean he hasdone wonders for Ole Miss and they were horrible last year and he brought them to be probably the 5th or 6th best team. He gets good recruits look out they could be dangerous. I do think that Leach will leave, but going t an SEC school would be different for him and it looks unlikely because of it.
It is all about defense in thr SEC something Texas Tech never really had. It was overshadowed by their offense, but they gave up a lot of points to the other teams they faces. Oklahomabeat them because tthey had a great defense and an offense to bout. Leach is fabulous on offense don't get me wrong, but it is not going to work against SEC defenses like Alabama or Florida's.
That is why Muschamp seems to be the best fit. Washington would have been great for leach, or another pass happy league. One guy to look out for getting the job it Peterson from Boise he is well rounded as a coach ans sure he was in the WAC, but he did beat teams that seeem to always be better.
Miss Sate seems to be a hott job, but an SEC school would be unliley for Leach. Although as you said Mac Brown deos have Muschamp under a trace or something I still think he may be the #1 guy on their list. To me anyway

Hi I'm Joe, I commented on the Auburn article. Did you hear that Graham Harrell said that he was almost sure Leach was going to leave? I mean hearing that from a future first round NFL Draft pick and a man who is pretty close to him is pretty big. HE was rumored to go to Washington, now that it is out, there is a possibility he could go to open spots, such as Auburn, but it is unlikely. I don't know if Clemson is filled yet, could be soon, but having Leach would give it a boost. I still think Muschamp is the fron runner in the Auburn coach carosel. Plus in the press conference, he said that Tuberville was asked if he would come and still be apart pf the athletic area, like a consultant or something, by the president of the school. He said he'd think about it, And if that were the case, Muschamp would be a shoend.
Since they have worked so long together.

What's up Doug appreciate the feedback. I stand by my comments about T'Sharvan Bell--I fell in love with the kid when I watched his highlights on rivals.com and I still think he'll be a future star once he gets healthy! Kids get labeled future stars all the time before they play a college game--college football recruiting coverage especially. Anyways man take care and I'll be lookin' for some articles from you man.
