will I am's Bio

Born in the suburbs of Chicago I am still and will always be a Chicagoan. I presently live in the sports abyss that is Philadelphia (since '95). I am a Cubs fan but please spare me your pity. In the picture with me is my wonderful daughter. We were in attendance of a Cubs vs. Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park. The Cubs won!!! I am a Bears fan at heart but also a fan of the New York Football Giants. That love affair stems from the days LT wreaked havoc on the grid iron. I still have my copy of the Super Bowl Shuffle on 12' vinyl and a Walter Payton throwback jersey I adorn as I watch my Sunday Ticket to make sure I see the Bears play. After Jordan retired I pretty much became bored with the NBA but still check in on the Bulls every now and again.

Favorite sports moment: I was with one of my best friends up in Boston. The date was October 17th, 2004. His brother was filling in with Aramark as a manager at the .406 club. We got a call about 2 pm that afternoon with 2 tickets in right field above the pen at face vale, $50 a piece. Fenway was ROCKIN! It is an absolute cathedral. Coming from a kid that spent summer after summer going to as many games at Wrigley (and Comiskey I must admit) this man was truly blown away by Fenway Park. In case you were on another planet, Mo' Rivera issues a lead off walk to Kevin Millar. In comes the venerable Dave Roberts (only 65 at the time) to pinch run and swipes 2nd after a few pesky pick off attempts. Billy Mueller singles him in to tie it at 4 a side & into extras the game goes. Some time around 1 am in the bottom of the 12th, Big Papi crushes one to Beacon Hill and the Red Sox run the table all the way through the World Series. I had never experienced anything like the electricity that was there in that ball park that autumn night.

Chicago Disclaimer: I was 8 during the '85 Bears season and did not truly grasp the magnitude of it. Same can be said of the Bulls 1st title in '91; I was 13 and playing in little league that June. As their run went on & I grew older I came to appreciate all of it more and more.

    The cradles of eminence..

  8. No worries - I don't hate on rival fans. My first game at Lambeau Field was the opening day game vs. the bears a few years back. Bears absolutlely destroyed the Pack. Grossman looked like Montana that day (hasn't happened since, needless to say...)

  9. Will,

    Thanks for being a fan.
