Top 15 Transfer Target For Manchester United (2016/2017)
    Shirt Left Vacant = No 2, No 3, No 6, No 13, No 14, No 15, No 22, No 24 and No 26
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

    [FORWARD]

    1. Vincent Janssen
    D.O.B : 15 / 6 / 1994 (age 21)
    Position: Striker
    Nationality: Netherlands
    Club: AZ Alkmaar
    Market Value: £15m-£35m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING: 72/80. Powerful Striker. One of the brightest talents in the Eredivisie and has been compared to Ruud van Nistelrooy. Importantly, he is two footed, which makes his moves in the penalty area difficult to predict, he can go right and he can go left. A lot of strikers can only shoot with one foot, and they are much easier to mark.

    2. Romelu Lukaku
    D.O.B : 13 / 5 / 1993 (age 22)
    Position: Striker
    Nationality: Belgium
    Club: Everton
    Market Value: £40m-£65m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING: 75/80. Proven goalscorer in the Premier League. One of the ten most promising young players in Europe. He is a clinical finisher with both feet, very strong in the air and has immense raw talent that could see him become an outstanding striker.

    3. Jamie Vardy
    D.O.B :11 / 1 / 1987 (age 29)
    Position: Striker / Winger
    Nationality: England
    Club: Leicester City
    Market Value: £20m-£35m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING: 70/80. Proven goalscorer in the Premier League. He's not just quick, he's extremely fast, tireless, very effective and dynamic striker, who is good in the air, and capable of striking the ball with both feet.

    [WINGER]

    4. Ousmane Dembele
    D.O.B : 15 / 5 / 1997 (age 18)
Position: Winger / Attacking Midfielder / Striker
    Nationality: France
    Club: Stade Rennais
    Market Value: £25m-£55m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:75/80. Very promising young player. He's the top scorer among the U-20 players in the top 5 leagues this season. At just 18 years old, he’s producing offense at a rate that’s quite rare. It's insane, he's the best dribbler in French Ligue 1 right now and has made such an impact that he has been dubbed ‘the next Cristiano Ronaldo’.

    5. Pione Sisto
    D.O.B : 4 / 2 / 1995 (age 21)
    Position: Winger / Attacking Midfielder
    Nationality: Denmark
    Club: Midtjylland
    Market Value: £15m-£30m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:70/80. Very promising young player who scored twice against Manchester United in Europa League. He's definitely one of the biggest talents the Danish league has seen for a very long time. Able to play on either flank or in a central role, this lad possesses some outstanding qualities. Not only is he physically strong and lightning quick, he backs it up with tricky dribbling skills, good vision for pass and ice cool composure in front of goal.

    6. Sadio Mane
    D.O.B : 10 / 4 / 1992 (age 23)
Position: Winger / Attacking Midfielder / Striker
    Nationality: Senegal
    Club: Southampton
    Market Value: £25m-£40m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:70/80. Very Promising and talented attacking player. He has great pace, power, skills and a willingness to drive forwards from his position. It's no surprise that Mane is a hot commodity. Not only has he proven himself a terrific Premier League player, but he's only 23 years old and his contract with Southampton expires in 18 months.

    7. Felipe Anderson
    D.O.B : 15 / 4 / 1993 (age 22)
Position: Winger / Attacking Midfielder / Striker
    Nationality: Brazil
    Club: Lazio
    Market Value: £30m-£50m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:7080. Very Promising and talented attacking player. One of the fastest players in Europe. He also possesses good ball control and dribbling ability. He is also a versatile player, and is capable of playing as a forward, as a winger, and as an attacking midfielder.

    8. Lorenzo Insigne
    D.O.B : 4 / 6 / 1991 (age 24)
Position: Winger / Attacking Midfielder / Striker
    Nationality: Italy
    Club: Napoli
    Market Value: £30m-£55m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:75/80. Gifted footballer with great technical skill and a smart football brain. One of the brightest stars in the Italian Serie A. He has extremely good dribbling skills and as a defender it's difficult to defend him. No wonder then that his former club teammate Goran Pandev nicknamed him the 'Italian Messi'.

    [MIDFIELDER]

    9. Youri Tielemans
    D.O.B : 7 / 5 / 1997 (age 18)
Position: Deep-lying Holding Midfielder / Box-to-box Midfielder / Advanced Playmaker
    Nationality: Belgium
    Club: Anderlecht
    Market Value: £20m-£35m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:75/80. Very promising young player. He has great technical ability and vision, which means that he can collect the ball in midfield and create space for himself or run with the ball and play his team-mates into space. He is a two-footed player, plus he does have good tackling ability which is a necessity for a player in midfield.

    10. Renato Sanches
    D.O.B : 18 / 8 / 1997 (age 18)
    Position: Deep-lying Playmaker / Holding Midfielder / Box-to-box Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder / Advanced Playmaker / Winger
    Nationality: Portugal
    Club: Benfica
    Market Value: £30-£55m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:75/80. Very promising young player. One of the most promising and versatile young players in Europe. He has been described “the new Ronaldinho” by Benfica fans and observers in Portugal.

    11. Ross Barkley
    D.O.B : 5 / 12 / 1993 (age 22)
Position: Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder / Advanced Playmaker
    Nationality: England
    Club: Everton
    Market Value: £30-£55m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:70/80. Very promising young player. One of the hottest home-grown Premier League prospects. Barkley is more specialised as a playmaker. His distribution is really excellent, but he is also quick and strong, meaning he can also be used to cover ground in the centre of the pitch and start moves from wherever he picks up the ball.

    12. Paul Pogba
    D.O.B : 5 / 3 / 1993 (age 23)
Position: Deep-lying Playmaker / Holding Midfielder / Box-to-box Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder / Advanced Playmaker
    Nationality: France
    Club: Juventus
    Market Value: £55-£80m
OVERALL SCOUT RATING:78/80. World Class Midfielder. Pogba has become one of world football's hottest properties since joining Juventus for free from Manchester United in the summer of 2012 and was named World Golden Boy in 2013, Fifa World Cup Best Young Player in 2014, Fifa FifPro World XI in 2015. Regardless of whether United ever re-sign Pogba, letting him leave for free, given his obvious outstanding talent, has to rank as one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s biggest transfer mistake ever.

    [DEFENDER]

    13. John Stones
    D.O.B : 28 / 3 / 1994 (age 21)
Position: Central Defender / Right back

Position: Centre Back / Defensive Midfielder

I don't see Harry Kane to Manchester United happening, David. Certainly not this summer.

He doesn't seem to be in a rush to leave and Tottenham wouldn't sell him even if he wanted to. Kane is too big a part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the season and letting him go to Man United would be handing one of their most powerful weapons to a team Spurs hope to rival in the battle for top-four places.

One to revisit in a year's time perhaps depending on what goes on in 2015-16. But I'd be extremely surprised if anything occurred with this link in the remainder of the window.
