Hello Jason. I have been following Bleacher Report for some time and am disappointed by the lack of historical and 'dream team' information regarding our beloved Fighting Illini. Given that you are now the featured columnist I would like to see some progress on this matter. We may not be a power school, but we at least deserve a few webpages for our success on the field and hardwood.

I have no interest in being a journalist, but I have complied a 'hard to argue' list for the Fighting Illini 'Dream Team' similar to the Nebraska one on BR (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1297757-nebraska-football-the-cornhuskers-all-time-dream-team)

    QB: Tony Eason
    Jeff George

    RB: Red Grange
    Rashard Mendenhall

    FB: Howard Griffith

    TE: Ken Dilger

    WR: David Williams
    Brandon Lloyd
    Arrelious Benn
    Mike Bellamy

    OL: Brad Hopkins
    David Diehl
    Alex Agase
    Jim Juriga
    Tony Pashos

    DE: Simeon Rice
    Whitney Mercilus
Alt. Fred Wakefield (Could play both DE and DT)
    DT: Moe Gardner
    Don Thorp

    MLB: Dick Butkus
    Dana Howard

    OLB: Kevin Hardy
    Bill Burrell
    J Leman

    CB: Eugene Wilson
    Henry Jones
    Kelvin Hayden
    Vontae Davis

FS: Al Brosky (Still All-Time NCAA Record Holder)
    Craig Swoope

    SS: Stan Wallace
    Chris Green
Alt. Bobby Jackson (prior to his torn ACL he was one of the biggest hitters in the Big Ten and forced almost a fumble a game)

PR/KR: Dike Eddleman (Still holds all major special team records)

    K: Neil Rackers

    P: Steve Weatherford

    Coach: Mike White

I trust that you can fill in the rest and give us a page to be proud of. Thanks Jason.

    Best,
    Charles

Hey Jason, just read your article on why the Cubs will get there soon. I thought it was pretty 'open' in terms of details (which is fine), but overall it makes sense. I never truly considered the new training facility in Arizona and its affect. I also wonder when Theo hires a manager, do you think he queries these guys as to whom they'd consider bringing in?

Jason- check out our site www.Cubsquest.com and see what you think. Dedicated to holding their feet to the fire; this 'next year' thing is getting very tiresome. Would love your take...

Haha! Definitely. We get a ton of Hawks and Wings fans down here in Socal. But that's what makes the games so much more exciting, especially when we win!
