About

I'm an Ex-Sports Editor not Afraid to Speak His Mind. The newspaper I was Sports Editor with? Well, it's long gone. When I grew up in Mentor, Ohio, about 20 miles east of Cleveland, it was the Painesville Telegraph. You read the name of that city right. Painesville is the hometown of Don Shula, among others. Anyway, it was the Lake County Telegraph when I left it in May, 1983, and about 3 years later, it was gone. Bought out by the competition, the Lake County-Willoughby News-Herald. I also write in outposts like Shreveport, Fort Worth (ANOTHER paper that's long gone, the Fort Worth Press) and Elyria.
I switched careers from newspapers to radio in 1983 and today I play Name That Tune for a living. Honest. You can see my company's weekly charts Tuesdays in USA Today.
