Jon has yet to fill out a bio.
No problem. Here's how I feel.
1) Do you think Kipnis and Chisenhall will be there (lineup) on Opening Day?
I do. Kipnis for sure. I'm all in on him. As for Chisenhall, I don't think he'll ever be a star, but I do expect him to be a solid above-average player. That's not a terrible destiny.
2) Who do you think the Indians should get for first base?
I expect them to, but I don't love the options. Right now, I like the idea of targeting Carlos Lee and/or Kendrys Morales to fill that hole, but I don't know how likely they are. I would like Carlos Pena, but he seems to be out of the Tribe's price range.
3) Do you think the Indians offence will be helped if they aquired Josh Willingham?
The offense will be helped as long as Willingham regains his pre-2011 form. Sure, the power surge was nice, but he also fell off in OBP (career: .361, 2011: .332), K% (career: 26.6%, 2011: 21.0%), BB% (career: 11.3%, 2011: 9.9%) and wOBA (career: .364, 2011: .350). Last year's 29 HR look nice, but overall, he was worth less than he had been in the past (career yearly average fWAR: 2.9, 2011: 2.1).
4) Do you think the Indians should atempt to get Josh Willingham?
I would not give Willingham much guaranteed money/years because I'm not sure if he's hitting a wall or if he'll regain his form. He'd be a decent addition at 2 years/$14 million, but for the 3 year deal he wants? I'd rather pass and trade for Carlos Lee (assuming the Astros pay about 2/3 of his $18.5 million strategy a la Derek Lowe). I'm not for a long-term Willingham contract.
