  1. Yeah, and when they don't cover, everybody says, see, they're not that good. Let's face it, dude, our Pats are the team everybody loves to hate. And I'm damned if I know why. Jealousy accounts for some of it, but that only goes so far. And there was plenty of hate before "spygate" (what a stupid word; I prefer to think of it as an unfortunate videotaping incident). Good thing the games are settled on the field, not on BR et al. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

  2. Since you asked... and since we tend to agree about so many things :-)

For example, I am all over a Ravens upset. In fact, I think they could surprise a LOT of people this year.
The Jets, definitely. Don't know how Favre is going to gel with the rest of the offense this early, but if he can't get something going against Miami, he sould retire again.
Bills-- Some significant improvements plus home field. I've got 'em by a TD.
I would love to see the Saints do well, but the Bucs are going to be tough, maybe too tough. Bucs by
    three.
Dallas-- my pick but not by ten. More like 3.
    SF-- total agreement there.
Detroit-- Atlanta still recovering from chaos. Lions at least cover the spread.
NYG-- I wish I could say that I expect an upset, but realistically I can't. They're still pumped.
    OUR NE PATRIOTS-- by 10.
    Pittsburgh, we agree on totally.
    Eagles-- ditto.
Chargers-- Panthers D should be better than last year, but LT will run all over them. When he isn't sulking on the bench and dissing his QB, that is. SD by 14.
Colts-- I think you're spot on.

It's tough to know what the hell to expect this early on, but it's fun to speculate. Let the games begin!!!

  3. I drew the picture - but it's not a self portrait.

I'll check out your NFL predictions presently.

  4. Love the new picture! (Well, new to me)

  5. Thanks for supporting me !

  6. Hey you should read my new article

  7. I've watched a few CFL games while visiting friends in Toronto, and you're right, it's a weird game. We had a nifty little QB who grew up about 20 miles from where I'm standing and went to Boston College, which is right up the street from me, couldn't really cut it in the NFL and ended up a star in the CFL. Maybe you've heard of him... Doug Flutie? Quite the star there. He even went on to do a couple of brief stints with the Pats.

  8. And here I thought I'd have to actually write an article to pick up a fan. Thanks Ivahn, we are on the same page about a lot of things. I just can't get with hockey. Having grown up in North Carolina, my idea of winter sports is basketball and... well, basketball. We had some kind of minor league hockey team called the Charlotte Checkers, and we'd go to see them when we were in the mood to watch a good fight. Or twelve. Blood on the ice, my friend. Keep writing, maybe you'll inspire me. Thanks.

  9. Thanks Ivan!

  10. Thanks for the add...
    Cheers

  11. The Pens have to give up some role players in order to sign big time scorers. Laraque, probably gone yeah. Sykora too. Gill's a pylon on D, but I think they should keep Sydor for experience on the blueline, but Laraque and Gill are the first two to go.

Look at their AHL Affiliate making it to the Calder Cup Finals. They've got some talent in their system so I'm thinking there'll be some promotions come training camp for the 08-09 season.

  12. thanks for the add! It's nice ,
    Miah :)

  13. Thanks for the add.

  14. Thanks man!

    -Sean

  15. Pens off-season plans begin. Hossa back? Probably not eh? So many people to sign not enough money to go around.
