Hey, here's what I wrote on your Bulletin Board in March -

[ "Here's exactly how it works (let's just use March as an example month) -

Regardless of what date in March you inform me of a fighter you would like to add/drop, I WILL NOT execute that transaction until March 31st at 11:59pm Eastern Time." ]

Change March to May and reread it. If you haven't figured it out, it means ADD/DROPS ARE ONLY ALLOWED ON THE LAST DAY OF EVERY MONTH.

Therefore I'll mark you down as picking up Dan Hardy, but he won't be on your team until June (AFTER UFC 146) - meaning you will not receive any points if he wins.

I would focus on picking up someone who fights in June so it will count for your team.

    Let me know,
    Mike D

Dude - the points for Simeon Thoresen have been updated. I overlooked that fight...my bad.

You are allowed ONE add/drop at the end of this month, so let me know who you want to add/drop most.

If you feel like the league is terribly unorganized, feel free to drop out anytime... no offense, but you will not be missed. Instead of criticizing me, perhaps you could offer to help by making sure I catch all of the points.

FYI - I'll need your ONE add/drop by the end of May

Still going - been busy... just did the update for March (there was only one event) & you're right, nobody made any moves but we did gain a new member (he picked up 5 scrubs as his team).

    Here's the update :

Man - I have to keep reminding myself you never got a chance to read the original article...

Here's exactly how it works (let's just use March as an example month) -

Regardless of what date in March you inform me of a fighter you would like to add/drop, I WILL NOT execute that transaction until March 31st at 11:59pm Eastern Time. I have to record everybody's add/drop's and then ON MARCH 31st, determine who goes where, as I previously explained if two teams want the same fighter, I have to give that fighter to the team with the lower point total. Also, no fighter that was dropped can be picked up until the NEXT MONTH.

So to clear up confusion, you can tell me tomorrow that you want to add Fighter X and drop Fighter Y... I will not add Fighter X onto your team until 11:59pm on March 31st (because 2 weeks from now, someone with fewer points than you might want the same fighter, and that means he would get him... NOT YOU.

ALL ADD / DROPS happen at the end of the month (AND YOU ONLY GET ONE PER MONTH). You can make as many trades DURING THE MONTH AS YOU WANT.

I hope that clears things up for you, and BTW since you didn't understand how this works, I will still allow your Tito drop for Simeon Thoresen even though it's March 2nd now.

Here's why Alves cannot be picked up (believe me, I want him just as bad as you)

The rules for the monthly add / drop are as follows :

Every team is allowed ONE add/drop at the end of every month. This is how it gets done - team owners email or post their moves to me by the end of each month. Sometimes multiple teams want to pick up the same fighter, so once I get everyone's moves I give the fighter that multiple teams wanted to the team with the least amount of points (example - I wanted Miguel Torres, but Mac has fewer points than me, so he got Torres and I had to pick someone else). The players that are dropped are technically still on someone's roster until the entire ADD / DROP procedure is complete. Therefore, they cannot be re-entered into the list of available fighters until the next month.

Granted, you probably think this system sucks (to be honest, I kind of agree), but not everyone gets their move in at exactly 11:59PM of the last day of each month (that's when I look at all the requested moves and give the team with the lowest point total whoever they want, then move on to the team with the 2nd to last amount of points... and so on and so on...)

Allowing ANYONE to pick up Alves would be cheating by letting him enter the list of available fighters when in fact he is locked on someone's team until the ADD / DROP procedure is 100% complete. That's why I was begging Mac to trade him to me before he dropped him and just drop the player I gave him back. Unfortunately, Mac wouldn't do that for me.

So, bottom line is you can have Alves, but not until April 1st AND unless someone with fewer points than you (I think you have 4) doesn't request him. I hope you understand I have to make these types of rules to keep the league fair (if there weren't rules like this, I would just take whoever I wanted, whenever I wanted). Another example is I wanted to pick up Stephen Thompson last month, but Jacob Schmidt had fewer points than me, so I had to choose someone else.

I'm just trying to run a fair league where nobody can say I'm bending the rules for my advantage (if that was the case, I would have picked up Alves as soon as Mac dropped him).

Hope all of that made sense,
    Mike

OK, you're new, so I don't expect you to know this.

Alves isn't available to be picked up until next month (because he was dropped this month)

You are only allowed one add/drop per month (you asked for two)

TRADING is allowed at all times (you can make a trade with another league member every day of the month)

Now, since Alves is locked until April, what do you want your one allowed move to be this month ?

Paulo Thiago is yours. If you think KJ Noons will be in the UFC soon enough, you absolutely can have him... just understand that anything he does in StrikeForce doesn't count towards your point total.

Let me know if you'd rather wait for Noons or take Kyle Noke now
