Dave's Bio

With his aspirations of realizing a professional ping-pong career nothing more than a distant memory, Dave Finocchio lives a life of regret and anguish. Some day, he hopes to reopen 'Beach, Blanket, Bablyon' at the family business in San Francisco.

Dave is an avid contributor to Bleacher Report's NBA community, focusing most intensely on the NBA draft and player personnel decisions.

A recovering baseball fan, he spends his summers reading. The remaining 9 months of the year are devoted to Notre Dame football and basketball, the 49ers and the Golden State Warriors. Dave currently prefers his summers.

Hey Dave,

I'm going to send you an updated spreadsheet by Thursday morning. I just finished up my finals and all my classes for the semester so I am finally done until August. Now that I don't have to worry about classes at all right now I can focus 100% on the internship. I will definitely be marketing Bleacher Report to different Arizona Message Boards more then I have been able to do recently. I guarantee I will get a good amount of people in Arizona to join the site and write articles for Arizona teams. Let me know if you have any advice or anything else to add. Thanks again Dave.

But I don't really think it would be that big of a deal to set up. I already put up the forum as an example, if you want to take a look.

There's Erick's article, and he's in a member group for Bleacher Report writers. The article is placed into a forum just for Bleacher Report writers to make new topics in (notice that Erick's article already has 29 replies in it).

That main Bleacher Report forum will be on the main index, in my Site Features Category.

There's a subforum in there that can only be viewed by those in Bleacher Report...so you guys can discuss future articles or whatever you'd like in it, and only you guys (and the administrators of OTR) can see it.

I think this might actually help Bleacher Report more than OTR, but it does give us some more articles to discuss as well...so maybe our activity (our posting activity) can go up from this, while all of my members can become familiar with your elite writers.

Let me know what you think, and if it's a go...you'll have to tell me which guys can have access to this once they sign up (like Michael, Zander, yourself, Erick) so I can place them into the group.

Sure. I have a couple of guys who write for my site, and I'm sure they would love to show their work off here, too. I'm not sure how we could get in touch with each other. I have AIM and MSN Messenger (rather use MSN). Just add otrbasketball@live.com (MSN), or if that's not an option, OTR Real Deal is my AIM SN.

I'm rarely on AIM, though.

Another alternative...you can just register on OTR and use our messaging system on there to get ahold of me. I'll usually get it within the hour.

You're right, and it would help if they had a point guard who was a more consistent shooter than Rafer Alston. But even with another shooter, their offensive creativity is limited because T-Mac isn't the kind of player who lends himself to complex offensive schemes. Everything becomes a McGrady/Yao screen, or a Yao post. And McGrady isn't a versatile player at all.

I'm really impressed by how Turkoglu and Nelson have played this year. Lewis' presence has completely changed the dynamic of Orlando's offense, and there is so much better spacing now. All that spacing leads to wide open jumpers, and room for Dwight Howard to dunk off screens. Did you see the highlights against Phoenix? Orlando ran one play the entire game: Howard sets a screen then runs to the basket and dunks in a lob. And he still has NO offensive moves at all. Once he gets some, the Magic are going to be scary.

There's still a lot of season left to play. I'm just wasn't in love with T-Mac and how limited the Rocket offense looked. They were able to get away with dragging games along, and having McGrady or Yao's individual efforts win them games. With the Rockets playing a little bit more uptempo, their flaws are getting exposed a bit more, and Rick Adelman is still figuring out how the Rocket roster plays into what he likes to do from the high post.

As for the Hornets, I haven't watched them play all year, but I saw good things for them. Paul is a star, West is a nice compliment, Chandler's matured, Stojakovich has stayed healthy, and Mo Pete was a really nice addition. Plus Byron Scott is a better coach than people want to believe.

There's still a lot of time for the season to play out and teams will continue to evolve. I'm just glad my Western Conference Predictions are looking better than my Eastern Conference ones. Charlotte winning the Southeast Division, what was I thinking!

You mean with this specific piece? If I were doing it, I would display each team's lineup and provide a summary of the team (strengths and weaknesses along with analysis of which players were overvalued or undervalued in the draft). I would also provide predictions of where you think each team is going to finish in the league. Thoughts?

I can keep on keepin on with all of that, dave. If you want, I can drag in some buddies from the club I was with in KC (A couple of 'em played on the national team). I am currently in training to be super competitive when I join the big team out here in NC (Apparently they just won a whole bunch of stuff, so I don't want to go in with anything less than perfect shape to get turned away at the door).
