Good catch, Ilyse thanks. And thank you for notifying me the proper way.
Ilyse does not have any awards.
Excuse me Steven, but as a journalist you need to be objective and state the facts. You talk about Victor Cruz and his 250 yards in two games in your article about advantages the Giants have over other teams in the NFC east. What about Hakeem Nicks and his 250 yards and a touchdown? And the fact that Hakeem Nicks is the elite WR that no other team in the NFC east has because even Victor Cruz is not elite and does not have the intangibles that Nicks has.

Yeah Vincent, like you really saw Victor Cruz's breakout performance coming from a mile a way. When all the other big time Giants fans and even all of the sports writers all say that they could see Cruz was going to be good, but not that good. And shows how much you know, as Cruz may have had the better stats last season but Nicks i,s was and still remains the Giants WR1 on their depth chart.
And your stats for Cruz are off too because now that opposing teams are onto Cruz and have a years worth of film to study his stats will drop. Especially if the running game picks up this season. All you have to do is look at his playoff/Superbowl performance to see that he was not as effective once teams were gameplanning for both him and Nicks. Nicks however exploded for 444 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Ted, the best players list in New York would include Hakeem Nicks for sure. Either he is part of the list, or you need to take off Victor Cruz. I know that Cruz had a breakout season, but Nicks is a cornerstone of the Giants. It is Eli and Nicks who make the offense what it is and Cruz owes a lot of his success last year to being out on the playing field with an elite QB and an elite WR. What Nicks does cannot be measured by statistics alone. He presence on the field opens up the game for the other WRs and tight ends, Cruz having been the main beneficiary.
And during the playoffs, where teams were gameplanning for Nicks and Cruz, Cruz was stopped whereas Nicks exploded for 444 yards and 4 touchdowns. The true elite WR plays big when it is the big games.
I appreciate what Cruz did for the Giants last season, and I think he will continue to develop into a good receiver, but please, he does most of his work out of the slot whereas Nicks is the complete WR - he can do it all. Cruz's Cinderella story is great, but he is not the Giants best receiver. It is Nicks.

Jeff, how did you leave Hakeem NIcks off of your latest article. For shame, or give me a really good explanation. Because on offense it is Eli and Nicks that are the cornerstones and make the difference between failure and success.

Hey Pete, Nicks has three years under his belt with the Giants, not two Otherwise good article on Elite
