I'm a father of 2 girls from Alabama, but currently living in the Central Valley of CA. The older of the 2 is 19 months (as of 6/2010) and knows how to throw both hands in the air and say "Touchdown Niners, and Touchdown Bama!" I grew up 5 minutes away from Bryant Denney Stadium in Tuscaloosa. I became a fan of the 49ers in 1988 (5 years old) when I saw Jerry Rice catch a pass and one of the announcers said that I might be looking at the best receiver EVER. I thought that was special and followed them ever since. When I saw him win MVP of the Super Bowl that year, I knew that they were probably right.
I was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama 1992 National Championship, and vividly remember before the game the Miami school trashing our campus and running their mouths... you know, the night before they got destroyed in what I believe was the best defensive showing in a college national championship game ever, 34-13.
