What does being a sports fan mean to you - is it casual, obsessive or somewhere in the middle?

For me, it's more or less an obsession. I wish I could tell you that I was obsessed with one sport, and that was it. I would live and die by.... International Handball. It's just a for instance.

But it seems that I cannot stop enjoying every sport. I have favorites, sure. Baseball and Football are without question my favorites. However, I watch everything - if it could be called a sport, even loosely, and it's on TV or available in the local area, I'll give it a whirl, probably start rooting for someone, and check on their statistics from time to time. I once stayed in Great Britain for 10 days, and was absolutely riveted while watching cricket.

Based on that, anything is possible.

  • Favorite Athletes

    Current: Kevin Youkilis, Ray Allen, Milan Lucic, Justin Tuck. All Time: Dwight Evans, Larry Bird, Ray Bourque, David Robinson and Joe Montana.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Giants (I know it's weird. Sue me.) And, for posterity... the Hartford Whalers. Someone cue Brass Bonanza!

  • Favorite Coaches

    Joe Paterno, Bobby Knight, Bill Parcells, and absolutely not Dick MacPherson.

  • All-Time Sports Moment

    If you were alive in October 2004, this requires no further explanation. If you were not alive in October 2004, I'm impressed with your advanced reading abilities.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

    Roger Clemens's first game pitching in Fenway wearing a Toronto Blue Jays Uniform... or the Celtics/Pistons Eastern Conference Finals game last year. Toss up.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

    The streak. And I'm talking about 56.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth.

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Montana.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Russell.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Orr.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele. Though I probably picked this wrong because it's soccer.

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Sampras.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger. What he does on a golf course is beyond reason.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

    Petty.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Schumacher.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

    Atlantic 10. Wait, that wasn't an option? How about the MASCAC... still no? Okay, ACC. Except Duke.
