I'm Jon Irwin, and I live in Portland, Oregon.

Sports History:
I love my home state of Oregon, but unfortunately we're not huge on professional sports here. My dad's from New England, and my mom's from San Francisco. In turn my loyalties have evolved to: Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Oregon State Beavers and Portland Trail Blazers.

Though I have a love for most professional sports (can't really get in to Hockey) baseball is my true passion. Since 2007 I've branched out from the Sox, and have built a knowledge of the game that encompasses the entire MLB. In 2008 I read Moneyball and that only intensified my interest in the depths of baseball.

Writing for NWSB has helped my love for NCAA football grow, and I really love writing about the Beavers. Though they're not always the best in the Pac-12, they've become my favorite team to cover.

In June, 2012 I married my high school sweetheart of five years. Throughout our relationship she's come to tolerate my obsessions with sports. In 2010 I took her to her first MLB game (a Sox win) and she's a member of my fantasy baseball league. She's also a big Beaver Believer. The Red Sox were discussed several times through our wedding ceremony.

I hope everybody here enjoys reading my stuff, and I'll try my best to get some good debates in when I can.
