Steeltown's Bio
Mike is a radio broadcaster for an AM station in Uniontown, PA. He has done work in play-by-play, color, courtside/sideline, and sports talk. He is the wingman for a sports talk show Saturday mornings at 9AM Eastern immediately following the local news.

In between 2 or 3 jobs, he finds it difficult to update his sports blog very often. Feel free to visit and comment anyway.
He is at war with the Clueless: an army of innumerable "sports fans" who enjoy blaming bribery, corruption, or underhandedness amongst officials, players and coaches every time their team loses a big game. While he knows this happens for the benefit of Las Vegas at times (Chargers @ Steelers, November 2008), most talk along those lines is idiocy.
He believes that statistics will paint a better picture of why a team is rising or falling more than any "intangible", though he also knows some people skew statistics to prove their own points, rather than the other way around.
His objectivity will amaze you.

That I've been witness to: The Pittsburgh Steelers winning SuperBowl XLIII. Not around for: Bill Mazeroski's Game 7 World Series-winning home run.

Most Memorable Game Attended
Jack Wilson scores the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning on my 27th birthday at PNC Park against the St. Louis Cardinals. It was a 1-out double with no one on that he tried to stretch into a triple when the left fielder mistakenly threw towards second base. Then Albert Pujols threw the ball past Scott Rolen at 3rd and the ball bounced into the dugout. 3rd base umpire signals Wilson home. Bucs win 2-1.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Cal Ripken's consecutive games streak. That will never fall. There are others that will probably also never be touched (DiMaggio's 56, Hugh Duffy's .440 average for a season...in 1894), but if I had to make a bet on just one, Mr. Ripkin's is it.

Ruth or Mays?
Can't compare eras, dude. It's been tried.
-
Unitas or Montana?
See previous comment.
-
Jordan or Russell?
See previous comment.
-
Gretzky or Orr?
See prev... Damnit...
-
Pele or Maradona?
Pele, cuz he's the only one I've ever heard of.
-
Federer or Sampras?
Sampras. It seems that the talent pool for men's Tennis was better ten years back? (And what? No "Billie Jean King or Martina Navratilova"?)
-
Tiger or Nicklaus?
Tiger. (My grandfather would kill me if he knew I said that).
-
Petty or Earnhardt?
NASCAR is not a sport.
-
Schumacher or Senna?
Neither is Formula One.
-
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
Uh...SEC for football, Big East for basketball. Subject to change.

Mike,
Good to hear from you. Only site administrators can delete an article. I checked and both of your articles are aligned left. So let me know which one you specifically want deleted and I'll have it taken care of.
P.S. Cincinnati? Really? Gutsy pick but they do have the chance to do it.
