I am just a normal person that loves sports. I follow the Red Wings religiously, even though I don't know very much about the sport of hockey. The only reason I want to write is so I can share my opinion.

Emmerton is a pretty good bottom six forward, he had that goal in game 2 as you saw, so he can score the random goal now and then and he has a pretty good shot as you saw. But if he's going to go anywhere in the NHL he needs to bulk up a bit more, he's still pretty small and gets pushed and smushed on the boards. If he can get a little bit bigger in the off-season he could be very good on the penalty kill and as a fore-checker. He's got speed that is a little bit below Darren Helm, so he can give defensemen fits trying to catch up to him on breakaways.

Yeah I agree, if he could get a little bit more muscle in his legs, he could contend for the fastest in the league, but for as small as he is, he is a hell of a player. Now I'm not positive, but he's only a 2nd year player right? Oh and we thought these refs would be better in Detroit, this game might be fair if the wings weren't constantly in the box............. I have never seen this many penalties by Detroit in a 3 game span, not that I can remember anyways.
