Good Afternoon Martin:
Thank you for your kind words. Sadly traditional clubs are being shunned by "the powers that be" on this side of "the pond" because the new complexes bribe them with massive sums to host what has now been turned into a money making bonanza.
Royal County Down, very successfully staged The Walker Cup last year and the traditional links throughout the UK & Ireland host The Open Championship every year. It lasts for 5 days, has over 100 competitors and massive crowds turn up to spectate ( with young people aged under 18 years admitted free of charge!
I had a letter from the secretary of Portmarnock before the last fixture, he informed me they would be delighted to host the match but could not compete with the monies offered by The K Club, who incidently have trebled their green fees since.
I personally have been to Portmarnock when they staged The Canada Cup, The Walker Cup and several major professional tournaments and can vouch for their ability to so do.
Since 1981 The PGA/European Tour run The Ryder Cup to line their own pockets and the media in particular keep their mouths closed because of the fear of being banned. Sad bu true !

Hey Martin,
I hope you've been enjoying the new and improved Bleacher Report—we're really happy with the feedback we've received so far.
Just thought I'd let you know that next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements, and thus it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.
Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Martin!
