I am a Bangalore-based a journalist since 1995. I have earlier worked with Deccan Herald, The Times of India, and The New Indian Express, and headed a journalism institute for a year. I have authored "The Positive Story" on insurance for HIV-positive people in 2008. When the October 2009 floods devastated North Karnataka (southern India), I toured two districts and wrote a series of articles exposing corruption and bureaucratic apathy. My report on the exclusion of Dalits (untouchables) in the flood relief efforts was well-received by both print and television media. I consult several NGOs and a human rights group to research and document socio-political issues.
I love to write on women's issues, HIV/AIDS, caste and religion, rural poverty, environmental issues, and tennis. I blog at www.savitahiremath.com.

Savita, good to know you are out there following tennis. Appreciate the article prop. I hope your writing and journalism is going well!
Thanks again for the 'like', Savita. I'm also very glad your Federer "Sustainable Solution..." article was an outstanding success. Congratulations on that one because your writing deserves recognition.
Appreciate the 'like' for the Nadal slideshow. It was a fun write. Very impressed with your Reverberations blog and work. It looks like you have so many issues you are writing and representing; it must keep you so busy. All of it is excellent quality, and it's easy to see why you are a true journalist/writer. Your writing is second to none here on B/R, and I admire the quality you bring with your words and ideas.
Thanks again for the Props on my article. Much appreciated. I'm relatively new to B/R but I want to say again how outstanding your writing is. I just found your page and was not surprised at all that you have been a journalist for awhile. Loved the article you posted on Federer "Up against his second greatest enemy."
Donald, it's in the archives. There have been too many articles pouring in since yesterday.
Savita, Do you know why your article isn't getting any space on BR? It's not on the featured list and I can't find it anywhere except under your profile.
Cross my fingers! :))
You really did a good job with the article! hopefully we'll have a great sunday with Federer lifting the trophy ^-^
