About

Growing up in North Dakota, I never had a chance to cheer for a big time local sports team. I basically had to choose between Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Denver. So i did what every North Dakota sports junky would do. Pick a Miami, FL team to cheer for!

I have now been a devoted Hurricanes fan for over 27 years. Don't get me wrong, I am not your typical biased fan, I respect college football as a whole and when I had an opportunity to put together a Bleacher Report top 25 poll, I gladly accepted.

Although this is not my full time job, writing these articles for the college football fans is a dream come true.

Hey Dave, I love your articles. If I may make a suggestion? You NEED to write an article about the possibility of a stadium for UM. There's a healthy petition online (http://www.change.org/petitions/hurricanes-fans-for-a-hurricanes-stadium#share), and even better...Alonso Highsmith is getting in on this! Read this article, look at the architectural design they came up with (http://www.stateoftheu.com/football-news/2012/10/8/3476404/could-the-future-bring-the-miami-hurricanes-their-own-football-stadium). It's a thing of beauty, and for a die-hard Canes fan who grew up in the orange bowl and saw it torn down, it is a tear-jerker. Get the word out through your writing, because it looks like all of the fans will need to pitch in for this one. All the best!

Hey Dave I really enjoy your NCAA/Hurricanes related articles. I recently graduated law school and have some free time on my hands, being a die hard canes fan (from New Hampshire, not that dissimilar from North Dakota) I would be very interested in contributing to the Hurricanes blog on BR. If there is any information you could provide me on ways I could do this it would be much appreciated. (Email-Shaun.Leary@gmail.com)

    Thank much

Hmm. Yah CBS lists the information the same except his name and on the schedule they say it's at Notre Dame. Might not rely on them as a resource as much.

I'm leaving Atlanta now on my way back to South Carolina. I just gotta say to the refs, the Ga. Tech fans, and last but not least the Miami Haters "You Can Cheat Us But You Can't Beat Us"! I know you have to be biased but I don't Go C-A-N-E-S! Keep up the great work David !!

David, first I'm sure you a very good writer. I know before I even speak you are going to say who are you to talk but that pic is creepy dude, every time I see it look like you trying to lean in and kiss me. I'm thinking "you better back off me dude" Is that you Facebook or Match.com photo? I under stand if you got a birth mark or something on the other side you would like to hide or something. It is better than say Amber Lee throwing her cleavage up in your face etc. Anyway from one odd pic to to another just some musings.

    Joe,

Many of the Hurricanes defense rotated a lot of positions. Walters played six games at end in his career, that was good enough for me :-).

Morgan moved to inside linebacker in his sophomore or junior season, but had 13 starts as weakside linebacker, once again it is why I chose him for the position :-)

Blades had actually started safety and cornerback throughout his years at Miami. He even got in at linebacker at the NFL.

Myers also had starts at center, I believe 6 total.

Overall, I basically took the best of the positions, even if they never fully played the position. As long as they got a few starts at the position, I plugged them in to make my team.

    All out of fun.
