Ha!
Fun comment you posted on my page!
There's "questionable" areas everywhere, I would guess!

Thanks, a lot that was quite a compliment. I appreciate it.
By the way, thanks for replying to that Andre guy for me. You basically wrote what I would have said.
I don't know how he considered any of what he said to be facts.

No sweat man, I'm defensive about the SF Giants; that's really what's so funny about all this nonsense. I don't care enough about football to hate any player or team so it's easy for me to remain objective. Some Dallas fans have accused me of hating Romo, being jealous, being bitter over the Niner's getting the short-end of the rivalry in the '90s, etc.
Those accusations may very well be true if I ever write a piece about an LA Bum (and believe me, I might just go after Manny). But not about a football player, well maybe Brian Jordan.

Dude, Your favorite Cowboy should be Chuck Howley. He went to WVU. Check him out

And if you read either article or the comments, you'll see your fellow fans like James and Ari responding to my article with personal insults and accusations. You'll also see that I didn't insult Romo or hate on him (although I admit some who agreed with me did). I pointed out what I saw were his flaws and drew my own conclusion. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure I went out of my way to explicitly say that Romo was good, even very good. That's an insult?
My ultimate conclusion may be unpopular. It may even be wrong, I don't believe I am since I (like Romo) am not infallible. But someone with integrity attacks the opinion, not the man.

Hey Jared,
This I don't mind - you disagreed with something I wrote and called me on it without tossing insults and lies at me. I can respect that.
But you are wrong. That Tony Romo is not exceptionally elusive is a fact and it is not a criticism (most QBs aren't exceptionally elusive otherwise those that were would not be characterized as exceptions). I agree it isn't a statistic but it is fact. Exceptionally elusive would be Steve Young, Michael Vick, Randall Cunningham, David Garrard, guys like that. Again, I'm not saying he isn't more elusive than a lot of QBs nor am I saying he hasn't had exceptional escapes, I'm saying he doesn't do so routinely so he is not exceptional in that regard. As for the clip (which I did not watch), most QBs have a couple crazy escapes - Eli Manning did against the Pats on the key play in the SB and no one would call him elusive.
To your credit, that is probably the weakest of the facts I listed. But the others are not even debatable. It is a fact that his decision-making is not flawless (19 ints, picks in big moments, etc.). It is fact that he turns the ball over (19 ints, fumble in end zone against philly, etc.).
I have humored you with numbers and specific examples. But such is not necessary to qualify events observed as fact. If you watch, you can see Romo has more time in the pocket than most QBs. You don't need NFL.com or anyone else to verify it. If you watch, you can see that Owens, Barber, Jones, Clayton, Whitten, etc. have more talent as a group than almost any other team's collection.
And did you read either article I wrote? It's not like these are the only facts I included; I haven't cited a single thing from the response to James' nonsense.
Man, I totally understand this guy is a stud for your favorite team. And you should defend him against harsh and unfair criticism. I would do the same.
But how harsh and unfair is it to say that a young QB who has put up great numbers and a lot of regular wins but no key wins is not YET one of the best QBs in a league that has more experienced QBs who have put up great numbers, a lot of regular wins, AND won those really important games? Especially when some of those QBs (NOT ALL) have done so with less talent around them.
If you objectively read either article I wrote, that's all I'm saying and I haven't found a reasonable person who disagrees with that assessment (nor is every person who agrees with me reasonable).
On the other hand, almost every single person who disagrees is a Cowboy fan or Romo fan (like Ari who plays for Romo's alma mater). I think one guy was a Colts fan, but that makes sense since Romo is following the career trajectory of Peyton Manning (talented player surrounded by talent putting up huge numbers who is heralded as great before he has won anything) thus engendering sympathy for a player in a similar plight.
Romo could very easily develop into one of the best QBs in the league and is ahead of pace to do so. And on that day, he'll cease to be overrated but that day is not today.

Excellent articles! You are a very good writer. I am doing an article and would like to include you in it as an excellent young writer for your college football article. Is that alright?

thanks for the comment - you hit the nail on the head on what my article lacked, which i am working on fixing right now. i believe i focused to much on the "negative" aspects of being a nascar fan instead of pushing the idea that we are nascar fans and we should "be proud."
and for many of us, that is not always so easy in the face of opinions contrary to ours regarding our sport, whether it is a sport, how we can get enjoyment of watching "cars go round in circles for hours," and all the other arrows of derision aimed at us.
thanks again, and remember, you are not alone.

Thanks for encouraging Edward (the 9 year old). Though not technically his Dad he and his Mother have lived with me for over 3 years now. He's a great kid and could certainly use encouragement. Thank you very much!
