My name is not really Matt swagger.. i wish it. I grew up in the greatest city in the world NYC than went to high school and wrestled for Blair academy. I went on to wrestle for the IOWA HAWKEYES and I now live in Kc with my wife!
Just wanted to say "hey"...mounting Buckeye losses have put me in a hole of sorts so I have been distant. I just wanted to wish you and your Jets luck as the Jets need some luck badly. I got to see the Jets eke out the win against Buffalo...close friggin game, eh? My Jets buddy had to work and called me 8 times during the 4th quarter. In his words..."The Jets have to win every game or they can kiss the playoffs goodbye". Oh well....talk to you soon, brother. Take care...
Thank you, sir, much appreciated...I'm still trying to glue my hair back from ripping it out, then putting it back, and then ripping it out again over the Buckeyes win against Wisconsin. The Buckeyes totally dominated Wisconsin only to let them score 2 TD's late in the 4th quarter. That pic that I have up of me was taken over 2 years ago. My daughter took that pic of me 2 days after cutting my hair short...my hair was half way down my back. I'm now starting to get the A.J. Hawk look again so I need my hair. Sorry to see Iowa drop that game to Minnesota...If anything, the Big Ten is wide open this year. Talk to ya soon, brother. Go Bucks...Hahahaha
Good job on the bio...You live in KC? Have you ever seen the movie, "Blazing Saddles"? I must admit, I didn't figure out the"Matt Swagger" deal until you said something. I feel like a friggin' moron now. I was born in Dayton in '73 and moved to Orlando in '81.....The Florida High School you were referring to is probably Brandon. They win state ever year. Just so you know...now that Michigan State beat Wisconsin, and Ohio State will knock off Wisconsin and then run the table, my Buckeyes will end up in the Big Ten title game.
The Pats and Buckeyes both had their bye week last weekend so I got to see no football but I have been very busy watching my Cardinals in the World Series. Go Cards!!! Between the Bucks, Cardinals, Pats, and Bruins, my teams have been kicking some serious ass over the last 10 years. I deserve it though...Throughout the 15 years before all of this success all of my teams SUCKED! Oh well...take care, brother...talk to you soon. Matt Swagger...damn, I'm an idiot!!!
Fill out a bio...if you don't then I'm gonna have to write in MY BIO something like this: "Oh...and by the way, the only non-Buckeye fan that I talk to here wrestled at IOWA!!!" I used to practice with our squad in high school but baseball was too important for me to commit to wrestling. I went to all of our high school matches and was friends with all of the guys. In our senior year, we sent 5 guys to state and our "metro conference" in Central Florida is a very tough region. Anyway....I always wanted to wrestle and simply couldn't, but all of our guys had dreams of going to either Iowa or Oklahoma State. I can't say that I follow college wrestling anymore but I just loved it because my high school wrestling team would sell out every meet. If anything, we were a "wrestling school". We went 0-10 in football but lost very few wrestling matches while I was at Colonial High. We were good at wrestling and baseball. You could walk on to play football (not a single player was cut at our school to play football). We hosted a baseball tournament once a year that always had 5 of the top ten teams in the nation, a few other schools, and our local top teams. In fact, our baseball team took a trip to New Orleans every year to play some exhibition games (and our coaches conveniently made it during Mardi Gras). At our school, if you played baseball or wrestled, you were instantly tagged "major stud". Soooooo...we wrestled and played baseball, and we were nearly horrible in everything else.
So...fill out a bio and then I'll know how much I can physically abuse you when the Jets play the Gaytriots and stuff. The powers that be did not hook us up for a Hawkeye/Buckeye football game this season. Oh...and you should be hung for being a Yankee fan. They are just as much of an evil empire as my Pats but worse. You should be ashamed. Take care brother. Oh...I'm 38...are you old like me? Didn't think so. Talk at after I chastise all of the Buckeye fans for demanding that Luke Fickell dies yesterday.
Now, I feel like I have some explaining to do. I was born in Dayton, Ohio in '73. I moved to Orlando, FL in '80. When I moved to Florida, the only Ohio based team that I liked was Ohio State. So that stuck forever. In 1982, I started watching the baseball playoffs after playing little league baseball. St. Louis ended up winning the World Series so I was from then a lifetime fan. When I moved to Florida, there was no pro basketball team and we used to get WOR on TV. WOR carried Knicks games, so I'm a Knicks fan as well. When it came to pro football, I had my choice of the Dolphins and Buccaneers...well, that didn't go over so well with me. I ended up liking the Dolphins biggest rival instead...at that time in was New England. So...my teams are from all over and I haven't changed them since the 80's.
It was very rough during those years when the Pats sucked so bad. Even when Orlando got the Magic, I was busy wearing my Oakley, Ewing, and Mason jerseys. I'm a strange dude, but I won't change my favorite teams for anything. Once, I went to Miami to watch the Pats/Dolphins, wearing a Ben Coates jersey...a Dolphins fan, one deck up, actually pissed on me after pouring his beer on me...and the Dolphins won the game. Those Dolphins fans are some idiots.
On a final note, I'm glad you picked Jack Nicklaus over Tiger Woods...Nicklaus went to Ohio State. Haha. Well...now you know why my teams are from far away places. I've been to St. Louis and seen the Cards play a few times, I've seen the Pats play in Miami twice, and seen the Knicks in Orlando about 200 times. I still have not gotten to see my beloved Buckeyes live yet. So, there you go. Weird teams, I know...but I won't change them for anything. I simply like you because I used to train with the wrestling team in high school just to stay in shape. I once ran a 4.38 40 yard dash as a junior in high school (you ever heard of a white boy with that kinda speed?). I was the fastest player in the school and broke my wrist badly playing football as a senior. Bye bye baseball scholarship...so now, I'm a plumber. Pfft. Take care brother. Talk to ya soon. Well at least you know why I have respect for guys that are good enough to wrestle at IOWA. Later, brother.
Unfortunately, I was only able to see the first quarter of the game before having to make a 2 hours car ride. I did know that the Gaytriots got by so don't think that you ruined it for me. I'm a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan so I was in a rush to get home and watch this game live...5 HR's in the first 2 innings, too. Cards are leading 5-4 after 2 innings. I'll watch the Pats game a bit later. It's cool to actually have a friend here at B/R...the rest of Buckeye Nation hates me because I want to keep Luke Fickell as coach and everyone else wants him dead. Thanks for thinkin about me bud. I'll post back to you soon. Good luck. You are a pretty cool dude. I'm glad to have met a sports smart person here, even if they do like professional wrestling. I have a 27 year old son with Down's Syndrome that makes me watch old professional wresting...cool stuff like Harley Race and stuff...you'd dig it. Take care. Oops... Pujols just hit another HR. That makes 6 HR's in the first 3 innings...unreal.
Awww hell...I know you are a cool dude, and hey...if you're not, you still wrestled at IOWA!!! Haha! I don't ever give anyone crap when their teams lose, so thanks for understanding that I'm that way. I almost cry when the Buckeyes lose in football so I keep my mouth shut when other people's teams lose. I just had to say something with "Gaytriots" in it. Take care brother...talk to ya soon!
You wrestled at IOWA!!! Hard not to like someone that has that accomplishment. Who won that Jets/Gaytriots game last week? I missed it. Well...I know who won but did miss it because I am a plumber that is barely surviving and was offered a job to make $500 to work the weekend. I couldn't pass it up. I've been gone a while so I'm just now reading your comments to me. Good luck, my brother...I look forward to talkin' to ya soon. Take care.
I am now your first "fan" I have just 5 myself and I have been here for just 2 years. I'm hoping to write here one day and have hundreds of fans. One day, you will wake up just to see what I have written. Haha. Take care, bud. I need a break 'til I can see keyboard str8. Tell your buddies my idea if you get a chance so they see that I'm not totally against a playoff. I just gotta get my head together. Xanax is very strong in the a.m.
I'll try to make this short about the CFB playoffs. Imagine this...BCS is still alive but it only has 2 games that it picks for instead of 5. Then the bowl games goes as usual. The winners of the 2 BCS games play in a NCG. That is the only playoff I think is possible without changing everything. I love CFB and the bowl season. It gives most teams and all winning teams an extra game. That isn't a playoff, but the FCS doesn't have future NFL players. The FBS does. You see or get my way of thinking? I'm 38, I've been a CFB fan for life and I love CFB...I don't want a huge change. My scenario gives a 4 team playoff and adds just one extra game. Remember that many NFL bound kids choose not to play in the Senior Bowl...injuries are the reason why. Most of those kids are trying to show that they are NFL typers or trying to up their draft stock. Cam Newton wouldn't have WANTED TO PLAY in an extra game LAST YEAR. Keep in mind...it is just a way of looking at it. the BCS system is in place thru the 2014 season anyway. I take a xanax for breakfast every day...anxiety issues....
