josh's Bio
Born and raised in North Alabama......Florence to be specific.
I'm a die hard Alabama football fan and generally don't get too excited about any other teams except the Braves or the University of North Alabama.
Attended the University of North Alabama after having lost a full-ride to the University of Alabama in the Spring semester of my Senior year of high school. Its a long story, but it all worked out for the best. I've been in the military since 2001. I've been to Afghanistan and Iraq one time each, but currently I am stationed overseas in lovely Buenos Aires attending grad school as part of the Olmsted Scholarship.
I used to love writing/reading in high school and college, but I've moved away from it over the last few years due mainly to a lack of time between the Army and my family. The result has been a huge decline in my vocabulary and grammar. I regained my interest only recently as I realized that my brain had begun to download everything English to make room for Spanish.
My spanish course before attending the U. of Belgrano did not fail to live up to the term intensive, but it also managed to completely destroy my already limited grammar/writing abilities. So, I found myself doing some "self-imposed" creative writing to keep my sanity during Spanish study breaks. Then I found B/R. I enjoyed the site, articles, and community, so I decided to publish a couple of articles and here we are....
I appreciate open, honest feedback on anything from grammar to word use (over use) or content. Also, I don't know much about many of the features of B/R, so any tips are welcome as well in regards to publishing, editing, groups, etc.

All 3 of the DIV II national championships that North Alabama won in the '90s.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record
Not a huge NASCAR fan, but given the number of races available to win in any current year, I feel safe in saying that the King Richard's mark of 27 wins in 1967 is pretty secure.
-
Ruth or Mays?
Mays
-
Unitas or Montana?
Montana hands down....
-
Jordan or Russell?
Jordan
-
Gretzky or Orr?
Gretzky
-
Pele or Maradona?
Maradona without a doubt.....I'll be spending my next 3 years in Buenos Aires, so I really have no choice because two things there will get you stabbed/punched/kicked/shot or all of the above quicker than anything else:1. stating that Pele (or anyone) is/was better than (pre- or post-cocaine Maradona) 2. being on the wrong side of a Boca vs. River argument (much worse than any rivlary we have here)
-
Federer or Sampras?
What is this "tennis" that you speak of?
-
Tiger or Nicklaus?
Tiger....I had doubts until the '08 US Open.
-
Petty or Earnhardt?
Petty has the advantage in most records, but neither won 3 in a row.....especially in a playoff, so I'll go with Jimmy Johnson.
-
Schumacher or Senna?
If I have to "google" at least one of the names, I don't feel qualified to give an answer.
-
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
Ala "Frickin'" Bama.......solely. I couldn't care less about the conferences as a whole. Trying to rank or compare them is a useless, unending argument that is all too often dominated by personal/media bias. Personally, I refuse to be a conference lover and don't recommend it to any else.

Hey Josh, man, you words made my day. Especially from a Bama fan. I have caught a substantial amount of flack from Bama fans, even though I tried to be fair to both teams. I like criticism, but compliments go a long way. But anyway, your Crazies article was rad. I'll keep up with you for sure.
I have no idea where I get so many hits -- its definitely not me doing it though, I try to only check it when I get comments so I get an accurate read on how I'm doing. I usually just post it at night and wake up in the morning and it's doing alright. I tell my family and friends when I have a new one coming out, but outside of that I don't know.
I did notice that it was on the front page of cbssports.com/collegefootball, so that might have something to do with it. But from here on out you can count on at least one more hit on all your articles! Keep it up and I can't wait for the Atlanta game.

Nice size large mouth bass you got there! My family has a lakehouse in Keystone Heights FL where my dad and brother have pulled out a 15 1/2(which was one of the top 10 largest out of Keystone in the past 5 years) and also a beautiful 11 pound bass.
My father is on an Angler Tour which travels around the SE U.S. and he loves it. My brother and I live near Jax beach so we do alot of surfing and such, but there is nothing like a weekend of beer and fish at the lake.
Nice article, by the way.
I'm a fan now, for sure.

Thanks for the add, Josh. I appreciate it. And good luck to the Tide. It's always a battle in the SEC.
