Just a fan of Pac-10, sorry, PAC-12 football. And I enjoy writing about it at my website West Coast Bias http://jakeshore.blogspot.com/
When I set out to do the "Best positions in Ducks' History", I of course had to look at statistics for the older players.
I'm guessing you don't remember Norm Van Brocklin slinging the ball around. Of course I did research, mainly saw guys like him who are in the NFL and collegiate HOF. Pro success definitely was included, but it wasn't THAT important. Hence Joey as #1.
I did not just look at stats. To say that is beyond retarded. Why then would I have Nate Costa on there!? Because he's beloved by this team, this city, this community for all he did and sacrificed for the team.
Also, almost all of the guys you said I didn't include (McCollugh) are in as honorable mentions.
I have to say Jake, you gave me a good 10 minutes of reading. I would take the time to discuss each position, but that would take forever. You CLEARY didn't understand why and how I evaluated each position. You seem pretty opinionated, and I can agree with some of your suggestions.
