When it came to whether or not I would be a sports fanatic, I really didn't have a choice in the matter. Not only was I born on Ewing Kauffman's (founder of the KC Royals) birthday, but it was also the day of the first game of Monday Night Football.
An avid soccer fan, I love Sporting KC and Liverpool FC. The first is easy. It's my local team. Having never been to England, one might wonder how I came to support Liverpool. One of my best friends is from Liverpool and he kind of rubbed off on me. All I knew was I wasn't going to support Manchester United (the NY Yankees of the Barclay's Premier League).
Haha no worries, Alan!
No problem, Alan. Good work!
No problem, Alan. Sorry for not getting back sooner.
Haha! Sometimes Firefox and B/R work against each other ;)
No problem, man.
You're quite welcome. Thanks for writing!
Just read your bit about the media game...very cool!
Any chance you know a Sporting KC scout by the name of Matt Martin? He was scouting West Virginia defender Eric Schoenle (among others) while I was covering them for the WVU student paper, The Daily Athenaeum.
If you don't know him, he's a great guy and was kind enough to give me his insight for a piece I did on Schoenle.
Well, good luck in the media match. Awesome opportunity!
Very cool to see a man from KC on here! I used to live in KC, so I'll be rooting for you in your media game!
