"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."
-Buddha
"Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your objective. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
I've grown up a baseball kid with a love for college football. I've been a Cubs and Fighting Irish fan for so long that I don't really know how I became a fan of either team. Since graduating from high school, I have gained extensive experience coaching baseball at the high school level and minor experience coaching 10-12 year olds and working out some college players. Currently, I am a Sport Management major due for my internship in the spring of 2011 with a minor league baseball team.

If anyone has any matters about the Notre Dame Football community, or any other community here on Bleacher Report, feel free to send me a private message through the "Send Matt a Message" button below my picture on the left. I do occasionally take short breaks from B/R for personal, work, or school-related matters, but I do promise that I will get back to everyone as soon as I can and that I will not be abandoning the site any time soon.
When it comes to problems in comment threads, I suggest keeping in mind Proverbs 12:16: "A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult." However, if it gets out of hand, flagging the comment usually gets the job done.
I've spent the past several weeks adding to a piece dedicated to one of the father's of college football, Knute Rocke. In time for his dedication tomorrow at Notre Dame Stadium, I present to you the true and inspiring story of the most renown coach in the game:
Don't be shy, and as always, feedback is appreciated.

Jimmy Clausen has been the best quarterback in the past 240 minutes of college football. Will he be invited to New York this year, or will the Tebow's of the nation get their pre-reserved seats?
Don't be shy.

Hey, this is a article that I'm particularly proud of, and I think you will enjoy it. It looks at some of the strangest injuries to ever occur in baseball history, there certainly are some strange ones.

As always any feedback/support would be appreciate, and would like to get this article around BR, so if you could tell a friend who might tell a friend. Then that would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I haven't pimped an article in awhile, but the silence is deafening, so here I go again.
I think that the Strasburg negotiations warrant a look at something that MLB should have adopted a long time ago. I'd like to know if you agree.

Well, here I go again. I'm now taking on a subject that is not commonly discussed among men in sports, namely gay bashing. Similar to my article on racism, I'm sure this will generate some debate, so feel free to join in the fray.

This one is very personal to me. It is about a wonderful children's stoy and grassroots movement benefitting kids who play for the love of the game.
I encourage you to take the time to check it out.

My latest article is about the evolution of a quiet kid from Spokane to a man on a mission in the Cubs minor league system. I hope you enjoy reading it as much I did writing it.

This is a piece that I'm really quite happy with. A lot of people know a lot about the Chicago Cubs, sometimes the early history does not game as much publicity as it perhaps should. In the first of a four part series, i take a look at the very early stages of Chicago Cubs history, from it's establishment in 1870. Would greatly appreciate feedback on this particular piece of work:

Yo Matt,
Been a while so I figured I'd use that as an excuse to spread some Pablo Sandoval love your way. Hope all is well.

For my 400th article, I decided to tackle a subject that is near and dear to my heart.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could take the time to read it and comment. I think it's something very important for us to recognize, particularly in light of today's Civil Rights game.
Thanks, Bob
