Doug Plank was a hard-hitting safety for the Chicago Bears for eight years after starring for three straight Rose Bowl teams under Woody Hayes at Ohio State. The Bears' famous "46 Defense" was named for his jersey number.

He was an assistant coach with the Arizona Rattlers and the head coach of the Georgia Force in the Arena Football League, where he was Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2007. He has since been an assistant with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Ohio State.

In 2011, Plank joined the NCSA network, which connects athletes, coaches and business leaders and empowers them to maximize scholarship, life and leadership potential.
