Mike Tomlin Is Not Preparing The Pittsburgh Steelers For a Super Bowl
11/22/2009
I've been a sports fan all of my life. I grew up in South Florida so the only professional sports I had were the Miami Dolphins and Spring Training with the Expos and Braves. No basketball, no hockey - mainly Football. I was there for the '72 perfect season and knew all the players and stats (I was 8 years old). My folks were from outside Pittsburgh so I had the Steelers etched into my being and my dad took me to a live game at Three Rivers Stadium. That was around the time of their amazing winning era. So I have always been a Steeler fan at heart.
I played alot of Baseball as a youngster. I was a Pitcher and Outfielder because I had a pretty good arm. Only 1 guy hit a homer off of me in my Little League career. I remember Hank Aaron coming to our field one time and signing autographs and I will never forget his quiet nature and genuine love for children so that has always stayed with me.
I do like other sports but not having them around as much as a youngster, I just never really was into them as much although I do appreciate them.
We all have learned the vague language that Mike Tomlin uses when answering questions about his team, his coaching and every other aspect of the Pittsburgh Steeler organization...
