2010 NFL Draft: Detroit Lions' Other Draft Targets
02/10/2010
Greetings from a former B/R intern. Glad you've taken the time to read up on me, unless you're trying to stalk me. Then it's not really cool, but I'm glad you're a fan.
I grew up in Michigan, which makes my sports allegiances easy to figure. Tigers, check. Red Wings, check. Pistons, check. Lions, reluctant check. Despite their best efforts to make the Lions fan extinct, I'm still hanging on, waiting for that magical .500 season.
On that note, I am currently working as the "Voice of the Lions" on NFLTouchdown.com, thanks in large part to Bleacher Report (where I was discovered). Now I get to do what I've always wanted to do: write about the Lions and, hopefully, have some people read it.
If you like what you've read, head down to http://www.nfltouchdown.com/category/detroit-lions/ and leave me a comment. I'd love to hear what you have to say, and you'll make me look good, too.
Also, if you get the chance, check out the August 24th edition of The Knee Jerks with Greg Eno and Big Al Beaton, where Michael Schottey and I talk Lions. Then check out the rest of them, and tune in every Monday, because those guys are awesome. You can find the show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/TheKneeJerks.
Of these guys, Only Haden is worth a top pick IMO. He's the consensus best corner which is an elite position worth top pick money. Okung...

I'll leave lots of room for his stock to rise at the combine, and with his...
As my colleague Michael Schottey has already told you, the Lions will take Gerald McCoy in the official Bleacher Report Featured Columnist Mock Draft. This was such a foregone conclusion, we didn't even need to discuss it with one another...
I enjoyed the article. As a native of southeast Michigan who has been transplanted to northeast Indiana, I have adopted the Colts as my second favorite...
Dean Holden replied…
FANTASTIC. Man, I wish I'd thought of that. I sort of invented a new group on...
There is also the historical ling Dean.... The only real memorable moment the Saints had was way back in 1970 when Tom Dempsy kicked his still-standing...
Don Clevenger replied…
SLF - I remember that day! Years later, I saw Alex Karras on the Tonight Show...
Seattle Lion Fan replied…
Typical Karras response... Yeah, the shock the Lions special teams showed that day was pretty evident....

Damned funny. However, I feel smug and justified. We were always lumped in with the Cardinals and Saints as the three worst teams of all time...
Dean Holden replied…
By the way, Faygo = AWESOME.
Caleb M. replied…
Great comparison...I almost have some hope now lol.
One more year and I'll be "Depressed and Defeated", seeing as how I have little ties and am mostly a CF fan. I'll heckle the Colts...
Rebuild?.....Matthew Staford is a bust!!.
Dean Holden replied…
So then you would package Stafford and Johnson for Berry, Suh, Graham, and Rodney Peete?
Seattle Lion Fan replied…
How can you call him a bust already? He came in to a team that just...
Haha, that's funny stuff Dean. Sad to say I usually flip flop from "Angry Pessimist" to "Depressed and Defeated" to "Rebuilder". I've been playing that loop...
Only thing is Jammal Brown and Bob Sanders won't be playing both were out for basically the whole year and same with Marlin Jackson I'd love...
adam biggers replied…
Not likely, but we can dream.
Holdem Chick replied…
lets just hope in 3 years that the we can be talking about the lions changing...
Well, if it's any consolation to Lions fans, there are 30 other fanbases (including the Lions') that won't be watching their team in the Super Bowl...
To be a Lions fan must be like it was being one of the (in)famous Aint's Bagheads. I feel for you.
Dean Holden replied…
The Lions have won three of their last 40 games. (you can read that again if...
Good stuff, Dean! Legend has it that Layne, in that '53 game, entered the huddle and said, "Y'all block and Bobby'll pass ya right to the...
