As a Philosopher and Historian of Sport, Howard M. Alperin has a distinct perspective when it comes to 'the Beautiful Game.' He believes that Pro Soccer in the U.S. can be a better game to watch with more excitement and drama for U.S. sports fans.
Mr. Alperin has a strong background with pro Soccer at both the American and International levels. He is a subject matter expert when it comes to adapting pro Soccer for the U.S. sports fan.
Mr. Alperin bases his opinions on intensive analysis through surveys and ethnographic examinations. His judgment is that progressive change must take place in order for Soccer to gain more of a foothold within the American spectator sporting landscape. His research indicates that pro Soccer in the U.S. has failed to galvanize sports fans due to its inability to separate itself from the international rules.
His belief is that the international rules have been slow to accommodate the sports fan's insatiable demand for excellence in spectating, unlike other U.S. mainstream sports that consistently look for ways to engage more drama and more excitement for sports fans.
With a few articles you've already become one of my favorite writers on this site. Please do an article on bad MLS team names, badges, and kits...along with USMNT. This seems to be up your alley and it's something that really bothers me since they are so easily fixed. The league needs to look good for primetime!
