Farewell Bleacher Report: A Tribute and a Thank You
11/02/2008
Ask anyone who knows me what they think of first when they hear my name and they will most likely say Manchester United. I am a die-hard supporter and consider it a true joy to write articles about the world's most popular club or of anything else related to sports for that matter.
I'm an American hailing from Illinois but I was born and lived most of my life in Kenya. I consider it to be my second home and I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't grown up there. I wouldn't trade the experiences, the insights and any of the memories I gained from living in Africa for anything. The English Premier League has a large fan support in Africa and it was an absolutely fantastic experience being in the middle of it. If I had one wish, it would be for soccer to be as big in the US as it is everywhere else in the world. Hopefully I have a long time left to live, however, and maybe, just maybe, will one day be able to see my wish come true. In the meantime, I will be using my journalism skills to the best of my ability in order to see this happen.
I've been at Bleacher Report for eight wonderful months and made my way up the ladder to become a Co-Community Leader for Manchester United alongside Salaar Shamsi. But after 100 articles I decided to call an end to my time here on Bleacher Report. During my time here I made it a priority to publish top notch articles and help everyone do the same. I sought to improve my journalism skills and play my part in helping Bleacher Report grow and prosper even further.
I would like to express my gratitude to Zander Freund, B/R's Community Director, for all the help he was to me since I joined and all the work he puts into making this Website what it is.
Now that my time here on Bleacher Report has come to an end I will most likely not be checking my profile page for posts any longer. So if you wish to contact me for any reason you can do so at jeff_from_kenya@yahoo.com
All the best,
Jeff
Lastly, I will leave you with a few of my favorite quotes.
"You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try." - Beverly Sills
"Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow." - Norman Vincent Peale
"It may sound strange, but many champions are made champions by setbacks." - Bob Richards
"Nothing worth having comes easy." - Dr. Kelso
And I'll say it one more time... PLEASE DON'T leave any posts on my profile. I will not be checking so if you wish to contact me you can do so through my e-mail listed above. Thanks.

Well how are ya Jeff?
Its been an up and down season. The Liverpool losses and the whole Tevez affair threatens to overshadow what is already a memorable season and one that could really get better.
Cant believe Im around to witness such a great time in out teams history.
P.S...Had a nightmare that Xavi scored tap-in to win the CL final 1-0. Lets hope not eh?

Well, I am definitely not sifting through the litany of gratuitously ingratiating comments on your last article, but hey, why are you leaving the wesite? Do you know something I don't? Truthfully, I'm interested in your reason, or perspective,.. briefly, of course.. drop me a note if you care.

Dude you can ask me anything anytime. Don`t really get the quitting thing. I myself feel the strain of writing a lot. I`ve cut down to once a week but no need to quit. Just don`t write. Come by and post a comment ask a question ..whatever. I think BR has enhanced my knowledge of world football cause of people like you. I feel like I know much more about Europe and EPL now than 99% of my countrymen...all thanks to BR. Hope to see you around.

Hey Jeff,
I've had a look at the story and tragedy of the greatest player that never lived. A player with all the ability to top Pele, Maradona, Di Stefano etc, but who had it robbed from him early on in his career. I'd appreciate it if you took a look and commented if possible, and don't forget to rate it!
