About

I'm a student at the University of Texas at Arlington who breathes college football. I've been a TCU fan since birth and will forever be a Horned Frog. My father got his PhD at TCU as did my Step-Mother and I went to Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center for elementary school, literally right across the street from Amon G. Carter Stadium (where TCU plays).

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

LeDainian tomlinson, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Roger Federer, Tim Tebow, Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Marion Barber, Tiger Woods, Mike Modano.. .. there are so dang many..

  • Favorite Sports Teams

TCU, Oregon, Florida, Missouri, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Red Sox...

  • All Time Sports Moment

The 2006 Nation Championship game between Texas and USC

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

TCU just DESTROYING the BYU Cougars 32-7 on October 16, 2008

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

A perfect game in bowling. Several people have done it, but no one can beat it.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Babe Ruth takes the cake here. His ability to hit as well as he did in his day is jaw-dropping. Scientists have said that if he had used the same equipment modern day players are using he'd have easily hit over 100 home runs in a season.. Ridiculous..

  • Unitas or Montana?

"The Golden Arm" Johny Unitas hands down. You show me another guy that even comes close to 47 consecutive games with a touchdown pass and I'll change my answer.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    MJ all the way.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky. Orr would win in a fight, but Gretzky would outplay him any day of the week.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele easy. At 17 years old he became the youngest goal scorer in a world cup, youngest to get a hat trick in the world cup, and the youngest to WIN a world cup. He led the team to victory TWICE IN A ROW thanks to an assist and a goal of his own in the final match.

  • Federer or Sampras?

I hope I'm never forced to decide. Comparing legends like Sampras to incredible current athletes who aren't close to retirement is tough. Federer has potential to be best all time. Federer vs. Nadal blows my mind every time.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger. The way he plans... inhuman.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

Ah geez, it changes every season, but right now I'd go Big XII, SEC, Pac 10, Big 10, Mountain West. I'd put Big 10 over Pac 10 because of Penn State but the Pac with USC and Oregon alone I think prove more dangerous than anything the Big 10 can throw at them. Mountain West, in my opinion should replace the Big East.

Haha don't let the intimidation stop you. I have had nothing but good responses from people. I just finished up my second semester at BSU. I have been taking my time as I already have a 17 month old son and we are expecting a daughter in Feb. So it is hard to balance spending time with family and earning money to support them and a full load at school. My son is a stud though and he already loves watching the Broncos with me. What year are you? What are you studying?

Dylan, I appreciate your comments and am always pleased to have a new fan. haha. It is also nice to find another student here on b/r. It seems that most of the writers here are 30+ yr old guys, and I often feel a little bit intimidated and underqualified. After looking at your page here, it is such a relief to see someone else in our generation that lives and breathes sport. I look forward to reading some of your work here on b/r.

    "See" you Tuesday.

You dfinintely have the right attitude. Good writing requires research and masive rewriting. I used to watch my mother rewrite articles dozens of times. That was in the day of typewriters. She was, however, published in a couple dozen publications.

It appears to be a little over two years old. This site has begun growing much faster lately. I was member 47,213 and have only been here a couple months. You are 64,029. http://bleacherreport.com/users/19-Zander-Freund is one of the founders.

Because journalism involves more than just writing, it also involves editors there are people here who perform each role. You will most likely be pleased (frustrated?) with the results of whoever chooses to edit your work. If you see a need to edit you own work either before or after a regular editor as you may do so at any time.

Thanks for the kind words Dylan. I worked more ours on that article than I would like to admit. It was excessively long but doing the topic justice resulted in the length it was.

You will find much acceptance among us bleacher creatures. I am looking forward to your first article and can tell from you comments that you are going to find success Here. There are many jerks that like to write for much the same reason as people who love the sound of their own voices. Those people don't find the negative energy they seem to need to feel fulfilled and generally wander off.

Just like you I stumbled onto this place. I enjoy it, the idea behind it and the people who are here regularly. Read, write and give people enough leeway to accept their loyalties are different than yours are.
