David Adams commented on Nolan and the 5 Best Glue Guys in Shark's History:
Good article, but I wish you had made it SIX and included Mike Ricci. I still miss his "glue" particularly on the penalty kill.
Original Sharks season ticket holder. I suffered through the Cow Palace days, got to see such illustrious Sharks as Link Gaetz, Robin Bawa and Hubie McDonough. When the team moved to the new Arena in San Jose, I got to suffer through the days of Craig (drop-pass-at-the-blue-line) Janney, and got to celebrate with the defeat of the Red Wings (the longest nine minutes of my life) and the elimination of Calgary while Theo Fleury was sitting on his butt in the penalty box. Good times, bad times. But I was privileged to see Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr and Ron Francis come to town and mercilessly slaughter the Sharks. Damn, that was a great line. After ten years as a season ticket holder, I moved out of town, but still follow the team religiously.
Thanks for reading and commenting on my article, David. All this proves is that the NHL is willing to spend unlimited funds propping up an unwanted franchise in order to preserve the Canadian teams' territorial rights and tv money.
