Born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin, Elyssa now resides in Tempe, Arizona. She attends Arizona State University as a graduate student in Geography. In addition to working towards her degree, Elyssa teaches and dabbles in technical writing on the side.
Despite living far from the Land of Beer and Cheeseheads, Elyssa still avidly loves all things Packers. During the Long, Dark Time of No Football (more commonly known as the offseason), she fills the void by focusing on hockey, baseball, and the Canadian Football League. When she's not reading sports news, she spends much of her free time in the kitchen in her pursuit of delicious food or traveling the country.
Appreciate your article on the packers who need to step up, but you're completely wrong on sam shields. He's played much better this year than last year, especially in his tackling. And it's not his fault he's gotten flagged for pass interference, at least twice and arguably more, on deep passes that were objectively atrocious calls. Shields has played quite well this season, and if comes back from injury and plays the same way, along with davon house and casey hayward stepping up, this defensive backfield could become a strength for the packers.
Wow, Lorenzo Alexander was really useless yesterday when he sealed the victory for the Redskins.
Lorenzo Alexander Useless??? You have got to be kidding me. If you google his name with the word "versatile" a dozen articles come up. FYI, versatile does not mean useless!!! Alexander can be used in every play on gameday...thats being useful. Also he is a great guy (just did a free camp for kids). It sucks that you would insult someone like this that is on an NFL team because he is willing to do whatever it takes to get on the field, which means he probably works harder in one day than you do in a year.
Hey, I don't mean to be a dick, but you might want to do a bit more research on your articles. As I'm sure you know by now, you made a huuuuge mess of The Most Pointless Player article. Unfortunately, this makes bleacher report as a whole seem unreliable. Honestly, a lot of the problems with the article could have been fixed with some cursory google searches.
Please get your facts straight before writing articles like this since it really question your credibility. If you even bother to do your research, you will see that Shahid Khan is doing everything he can to make the team relevant again and also build the fan base. Even though he may had been here for a short time, he is already the biggest ambassador for the City of Jacksonville and nothing that he had done indicates that he plan to move the Jaguars anywhere. You really upset a lot of people with the nonsense in this worthless article. If you're willing to come out and state that you made a mistake in writing this article and retract everything, then we are willing to put it in the past.
Your article regarding the Jags moving to LA, is one of the most rediculously uneducated fluff of an article I have ever seen. There is no reporting, no facts, nothing you said in the article even made sense. You jumped on the news of a missunderstanding and took it to the extreme, boardering on garbage. I have read some of your other articles and you are a good writer. It shocks me that this came from you. Articles like this are why no one knows what is actually going on inside Jags Nation. If you would have looked at the facts you would have seen that last year we sold on average more tickets then Miami and TB. You can think what you want and write your oppinions, just don't relay them nationaly as facts.
Loved your Player safety article. Sometimes a great article doesn't get a lot of views until a few weeks later. I had that happen with my Vontaze Burfict article. Stick in there and don't get discouraged if there are ever some articles you think are great but no one reads; it happens to all of us. You're a very talented writer.
Sorry I didn't get back to your question sooner. I don't think anything has changed in regards to B/R standards, but I tweaked your headline according to their editing guidelines to help increase its visibility on the internet (i.e., using more keywords, making the headline more concise). Hope that helps! I look forward to reading more of your work!
Thanks for the kind words today. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
No problem, Elyssa! It looks like your article is getting a lot of reads. :)
