About

I'm a Bay Area sports fan. Giants, 49ers, Warriors...love 'em. A's, Raiders, Sharks...well, they're better than any team in LA or New York. I went to UCLA and wrote for the Daily Bruin, covering men's basketball for 3 seasons. And when Pac-12 football is on, I am glued to the action.

You have no clue what you are talking about in your article about the 49ers potentially not getting the first round bye. If the Saints lose just one out of their next three games, the 49ers do not have to necessarily lose to Pittsburgh to maintain its tiebreaker edge. Think about it: the Saints remaining three games are against NFC opponents. If they lose one game, the best conference record they can finish with is 8-4. If the 49ers beat Pittsburgh and beat either Seattle or St. Louis, their conference record is 9-3. Very simple math, 49ers still get the tiebreaker.

By the way, east coast teams that play night games in the Mountain or Pacific time zones do not perform well. An east coast team playing at 5:30 PM PST feels like playing at 8:30 PM EST so the end of the game will feel like midnight. Could probably explain why Seattle punked Philly a couple of weeks ago (even though Philly had injuries) and why Denver took care of the Jets two weeks before that game (even though Tebow doesn't know how to lose). Not saying it is a huge disadvantage but it is a disadvantage nonetheless that you fail to mention in your article.

I should be writing for the Bleacher Report.
