Glenn's Bio

Bio Picture: 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero

Semifanatic sports fan. I have been accused of being a fair weather fan but, following a bunch of crappy teams will do that to you. In the late 60's and 70's Georgia bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons and Braves. Then in the 80's the San Diego Padres and Chargers. Although the "Air Coryell" show with Dan Fouts was always fun to watch they would always break your heart in the end. Then move to New England in the 90's and try rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots when they couldn't buy a winning season.

Ok, things are different for me now. New England has some awsome sports teams, I have more time on my hands and thus have found my voice.

"I am the self-proclaimed Alchemist of sports literature."

  6. How do you like Ty Law signing with Denver? A little long in the tooth, hell, he's almost as old as we are.

  7. Glenn,

As a Chargers fan, I'd love to tell you "more humor, less Patriots" but far be it from me to tell people what to write about (except now, when I just did).

You know I don't pimp my articles, but this one's a little bit of everything, humor, pop culture references, moral outrage, and uh... sports.

Check it out if you have time after you're done polishing all that Pats memorabilia.

  8. Good to here from you Glenn. Been meaning to check your profile for what is new, plus read your pick piece you guys do, but with the trucks season ending in three weeks now been busy with that.

Plus with my Updates issues on the Trucks Series, the editors kept telling me that you have nice article pieces buried in the Update.

So I'm writing pieces separately now and my article count tripled. Also based on article count over the last month, it's moved up to No. 1 on the page, and I'm a heck of a lot busier.

I will check out check out the picks this week and read your latest two.

If you get Speed, the last three races for the trucks are Friday night truck races for the next three weeks and the Night races are always exciting to watch.

    Take Care,

    Mike

  9. An editor changed the headline... I'm changing it back.

  10. Eric Mangini has been an utter failure in Cleveland.. A big part of that has been trying to be like his former mentor, Bill Belicheck.. Heres a message to Eric: He Will Never Be On Belichick's Level. Appreciate any feedback you can give on this piece.

    Thanks,

  11. I find that happens a lot with these collaborations. Everything looks good to go and then becomes fragmented. And I put everything in rich text format. I don't get it. I was trying to repair the thing when you stepped in, probably for the best. Now somebody else is editing it.

    Anyway, thanks for all, G.

  12. Glenn:

Oddly enough I did not know about the humor writer ratings on B/R and I am touched by two things: that readers have given me that honor and that you cared enough to let me know.

I'm deeply humbled. Especially with the company I keep on B/R. What a funny bunch of people, you included.

I still remember the article on your personal favorite funny picks on this site and my heart is still full to have made it on your list.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep writing and keep smiling.

  13. Glenn, now for my all pro defense.

    Had enough of me already?

  14. I'm still all goofed up on that issue, but I haven't really taken the time to figure it out. Shame on me. I'm glad to see you posting there.
