Ian Sheaver

I am an amateur writer who has written one novel, Diamonds in the Dust, and am currently working on another, The Spirit Road. I have also been published in Eye Spy magazine.

I've been a fan of Formula 1 for as long as I can remember, but really started to take a keen interest in the sport in 1992, during Nigel Mansell's championship-winning year. Just about every year since then my passion has grown. Even during the years of Schumacher domination, I never lost the faith. And now we have a new rising star, in the form of Lewis Hamilton.

My writing style tends to be quite humourous and irreverent - Formula 1 is such a preposterous sport anyway that you don't have to work hard to find the funny side. Anyone in the sport who takes things too seriously deserves to be brought down to Earth!

The sport is rapidly evolving as Max Mosely cracks the whip (ahem) so we can look forward to plenty of changes in the coming seasons. It is my intention to keep you informed, as well as putting a smile on your face.

I am also a keen cricket fan, and look forward to writing some articles once the international season gets under way.

If anyone wants to get in touch, you can send me an e-mail at:

I live in Hertfordshire, UK, with my wife, Heidi, and our border collie, George.
