bryan's Bio

Bryan Trafford is a short guy with a short fuse. He played high school football but was too short to play in college. He is currently training for his first amateur kickboxing match. He is an avid football, boxing, and mma fan with plenty of predictions and trash talk to go around. Rumor has it his right hook is a thing of beauty..........a rumor started by himself of course.
p.s. I'm not a journalism major either, just an idiot with an opinion.

  1. Take it easy on the new guy that wrote the Tito article. Please don't make him cry.

  2. I just posted the tito/kimbo article if you want to take a look at it.

  3. Good logic. I would take reach over weight any day.

  4. Thanks for the add Bryan!

  5. Thanks for the comment. I think that we hold athletes to a higher standard because they are always in the spotlight and thus made into heroes for our kids. These guys realize this when they join the NFL, and if they don't, they are naive.

  6. That sounds like a lot of weight to cut. Don't go to extreme on cutting weight if it is an amateur fight. From experience, it is way more important to work your cardio and striking than it is to drop the extra weight. A lot of early fights are more like brawls and you would probably do well to work your boxing.

If the rules are like for my early fights it is that there is a minimum number of kicks that must be thrown per round (I think we had to throw 6-8) but the difference in the match was my boxing skills.

Also, it may be American rules, but work your Thai kicks. Thai kicks, especially to the body are way more powerful than snap kicks and the power will do a lot of good if you are wearing shin pads.

Good luck with training, it sounds like you have some good experience in your corner. Take all the advice you can and try to have fun with it. That first win is an incredible rush!

  7. Oh yeah, and when is your first bout? Is it American rules or Thai rules?

  8. thanks for the thought. I will give it a shot in the next couple of days.

  9. Hey thanks for the pick of the day vote! Appreciate the kind words.

  10. Thanks for reading and commenting on the article.

    I Hope you liked it!

    Peace man!
