Maya's Bio

I am a third year university student at the University of Alberta, majoring in English. Thank goodness for sports to take me away from 19th century lit! I plan to go into Public Relations and would love to work for a NHL team. Fingers crossed for the Rangers!

While the city I live in (Edmonton) leaves something to be desired, I love my Oilers. The excitement of making it to the Stanley Cup finals a couple of years ago was such a thrill. It was so great to see the city come together and support our team.

I just want to say that the writers on B/R are doing a fantastic job, and I am proud to be a part of this talented community. Keep up the great work everyone!

    Maya, what did you think of Pittsburgh winning the Cup? I was glad that they beat Detroit, because Detroit beat Chicago. Chicago is young and talented.

    Maya, I agree with you about the East. I don't like Washington or Carolina. They're not traditional hockey cities. Yes I know about Ovechkin. That was a setup, to get the Caps and Pens in a series together. I'll root for Chicago over Vancouver. That's it. Way to go Bettman. No NY team and the President's Trophy winner is out.

    Maya, I saw the end of the Oliers win over the Wild last night on CBC (CBUT in Seattle). Right now the Oilers are 7th in the West. How reasonable is it to catch the Flames?
