About

In my current phase of life I am an English teacher residing in the southeast where the nearest professional sports teams are the Saints and Pelicans.

That may leave some of you wondering why I cover Chicago sports.

I was born and raised in Chicago, the south side to be exact. My environment was tough, but my mom was tougher. She insured that I never wavered in my academics as that was to be my ticket to better things.

She was right.

It was during my high school years that I moved to the southeast to stay with my father. I attended and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BA in Philosophy and English. After a couple of years of finding my professional groove, the world of education came calling. I answered.

I am by no means a success story you'd find on some made-for-TV movie, but I can provide for my family, and I have enough work/life balance to do things that I really enjoy, like writing about the sports teams that helped bring some light into my often bleak childhood.

Though I am not paid for what I do, I appreciate the exposure and opportunities B/R provides. I write because I love it, I'm good at it, and I hope to one day turn this passion into a profession. Thank you for reading my articles. Whether you agree or not, the time you spend to hear what I have to say means a great deal and I truly appreciate it.

for Bulls article updates and other James related activities.

    Hey James,

What do you think about a possible trade involving Boozer and Brewer to acquire someone like Josh Smith? It could make sense, Jimmy Butler would take Brewers place, and Josh Smith is easily a HUGE improvement on defense, and possible even better offensively than Boozer. Then if we re-sign Asik, and draft a SG like John Jenkins to backup Hamilton, our bench would suddenly have a offensive weapon, and our first team would be much better on defense. Anyways, would it work? And what are the chances of the Bulls even giving up Boozer?

James, which game did you attend as a child? The only professional games I've gone too are the Cubs and Sox a few times (usually in the upper deck).

    Hey James,

I wrote an article questioning Thibodeau's prolonged use of both Rose and Deng and the consequences it might have on the team down the line. Love to hear your opinion on it. Thanks.
