David's Bio

I was born in 1983, in the Wirral, Merseyside. Unfortunately, that means my first memory of football, growing up supporting my family team, was the aftermath of the 1989 FA Cup semi final against Nottingham Forest. I was always destined to follow Liverpool, but I think that event forever changed the way I saw football, and Liverpool FC. For most of my childhood in the '90s, I craved success to little avail, until 2001 of course. I was 16, and Liverpool won a treble.

But even that couldn't compare to the day that Rafa gave us. 25th May, 2005. I hadn't slept for a week. One night I'd be kept awake with fears of seeing the boys despairing and Maldini lifting the European Cup, and other nights I'd fidget all night like a kid on Christmas Eve. I'd waited my whole footballing life for this moment, and at half time, it was all collapsing around me.

But then something happened. What it was, I don't need to say. We all know. But that was the moment I'd seen in my dreams since I was a confused 5 year old watching the saddest day in the club's history, and suddenly, everything felt like it had come together again at last.

It would be great if I could see you views on it, if you've got time.
