Chicks (fans and media too) dig the long ball. Picking between the two, for an honor that isn't all that prestigious just a nice shout out,...
I'm a huge sports fan. I love the history of the games as much as the present day, my favorite athletes list will keep growing because I'll remember older players and think about how much they mean to the game and how much I enjoy them. Obviously I'm partial to the big 3 but I've caught myself watching other sports as well. Baseball and Football rank well ahead of the rest of the pack. I'm a public relations major at the U of Arkansas and working towards a sports oriented career. I've been a huge Broncos fan for a long time because of Steve Atwater who played at Arkansas as well. His hit on Christian Okoye personifies my love of defense. I'm an out of place Yankees fan. People are gonna criticize that as a bandwagon thing but when you look at that franchise's history you can't help but love them. And to top it off the first Yankee to get a hit in Yankee Stadium was Arkansas' own Aaron Lee Ward. "The Admiral" started my love for the Spurs and Tim Duncan carried it on. I grew up in Arkansas so I definitely know my Hog Call quite well, however in an ironic twist my mother was born in and spent her first few yrs in Ohio. My grandmother's family resides in Ohio and actually took me to my first game which was a Buckeyes games so they have a piece of my heart too. After the 2011 Sugar Bowl that's a sore spot in both areas. I'm always open to a debate about it and look forward to interacting with everyone.
Some of you may notice Merton Hanks on my favorite athletes list, the way he wiggled his neck after a big play kept my grandfather laughing for hours. In essence that sums up my love of sports, it brought my grandpa and I closer together.
