larry higo commented on Lofton Proving to Be Perfect Fit :
It's always good for a team like Atlanta to piss off a guy whom they have to play twice a year. Lofton probably chose NO for...

Thank you, Larry, for your additional comments.
As indicated in my article and the footnotes and comments beneath it, I was taught by my father from a very young age to appreciate, respect, revere and honor the sport of golf. Indeed, there are very few sports that are based on personal honesty and self-reporting like golf. Honor is integral to the sport's existence.
Woods is a very sick Narcissist. None of us can "fix" or change him. Elin tried, and she gave up. In a sense, he is like a monster "machine" that spun out of the realm of reason and went berserk. If he had not fashioned an image, which was sold to the world—and especially to young kids—of honesty, virtue and being "squeaky clean," he would not matter. Perhaps his fall from grace is akin to the tragedies of ancient Greece or of Shakespeare.
They couldn't do it in the end! I was on the edge of my seat until the last second. I'm frustrated as because I can key in on a couple of key plays that could have won it for the Patriots but at the end of day the Giants were more balanced and out played them.
Sorry missed message you sent me ill be around monday well see how things went down haha still thinkin patriots by 3 well see should be good one
Thanks for the compliment. I've noted that you're one of the folks who can write intelligent, thought out comments too. Even though we're not always in agreement, it's a breath of fresh air from the majority of the articles and comments on this site. I've thought about writing before but I don't like the Bleacher Report bureaucracy and I think Bleacher Report is too cluttered as it is. I did have an idea for an article about predictions that might interest you...
I've been reading about why Vegas favours the Patriots while most people are going with the Giants and even a Patriots fan like me has to admit that the Giants are the more balanced team. I found the following links...
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Super-Bowl-betting-New-England-Patriots-New-York-Giants-popular-with-gamblers-020112
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-02/super-bowl-winning-quants-say-patriots-will-beat-giants-by-more-than-three.html
Essentially the Giants are the hotter team at the moment with their defeat of the Packers and 49ers is fresh in everyones' minds. The links outline how making predictions based on intangible ideas like which team is hotter and which team has more momentum is like predicting the result of a coin toss based on patterns. That's why the oddmakers favour the Patriots, even if it by a slim margin, and it actually benefits Vegas because lots of bettors will bet of the team whose value has been over inflated. I think part of the reason the investment company has been so successful with it's predictions is that over confidence created by inflated expectations can actually adversely affect a team, as it did when the Patriots lost in 2008 which is conicidentally the one year Vegas got it wrong.
Anyway I thought you might find it interesting following a previous conversation of ours where you mentioned how you don't like making predictions but feel strongly about the Giants based on their how hot they've been. I think intangibles are a tricky area and for me predictions in the playoffs are about as accurate as a flip of a coin. That is especially true this year with the Giants and the Patriots. I have major reservations about the game since both teams can be explosive when they play to their full capacity and yet both teams have vulnerabilities and inconsistencies that can be exploited if they don't. They're both playing the underdog card and they're both working hard to plan, prepare and execute on the day to try and come away with the win.
I just hope it's the Patriots who do!
Haha no hard feelings Larry. Thanks for reading and interacting!
