A lot of people who wrote on blogs take themselves way too seriously, I don't consider myself one of those people. I love writing but I don't think that I am better than anyone on this site, I am just trying to improve my writing skills so maybe one day I can live my dream of covering the Buffalo Sports scene for a living. Bleacher Report is giving me a chance as a writer to grow.
Feel free to drop any links to anything that you write, I would love to read it.
In advance, I would also like to thank all of the editors who work hard to correct all of our mistakes, your hard work is greatly appreciated.
Overrated is also the most overused word on this site.
About Matt:
Matt Schaefer is a young sports fanatic who knows his sports! He currently lives in Buffalo, New York so of course he is a huge Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. He loves the NFL, MLB, and NHL. He isn't the biggest basketball guy but he will watch the NBA every now and then. Matt enjoys college basketball also.
Matt is still a young writer, looking to improve his work. His ultimate goal is to be a writer or broadcaster following sports. For him, it would be a dream come true.
Sports Broadcasting:
He follows the Buffalo sports scene with his online talk show of "Bills Weekly" (just on the Buffalo Bills of the NFL) and also"Buffalo Sports Talk" which covers everything in Buffalo Sports, from minor league baseball to indoor lacrosse!
Matt also covers the rest of the national sports scene too, with "The Schaefer Show". He talks about the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and all of the college sports. It is defiantly a different perspective from ESPN! Matt loves to talk about things that don't get the national attention, especially the NHL.
Matt also covers LIVE sporting events, doing mostly play-by-play but also color commentary from time to time too. He has covered Monday Night Football games (NFL, did color during Monday Night), Buffalo Sabres games (NHL), random NFL, MLB, and college football games.
Sports Journalism:
Not only does Matt enjoy talking about sports on the air but he also likes taking out the pen about them too. Matt currently writes for DieHardSportsfan.net where he is the head Sabres and Bills blogger, SportsGuysBlog.com where he is a contributor and BleacherReport.com where he is "scribe" and the Communtiy Leader of the Buffalo Bills.
Matt is also currently the fan voice of the Buffalo Bills on NFLTouchdown.com.

Hey man, if you're looking to get a start in the WNY area, look into Sports & Leisure Magazine. Not sure if you've heard of it, but I had a brief internship with them while I was in high school.
