My name is Bill Matz, I graduated with a degree in journalism from Temple University in May 2012. I grew up playing hockey (baseball and lacrosse, too) and when it became apparent to me that the NHL was not in my future I figured I could do the next best thing and become a sports writer.
I have followed the Flyers, Phillies and Eagles religiously since birth (my dad was/is the BIGGEST Buddy Ryan fan on the planet) and no matter what my devoted fanhood will always shape my perspective on those teams and their leagues. That said I try to stay as realistic as possible, at least in the articles I post to Bleacher Report.
In my spare time I intern at Sports Radio 94 WIP in Philly (listen at 2:30 & 4:20 am Tuesday mornings for my "People are Strange" and "3 Stars of the Week" segments), and write for Phillysportsnut.com.
Anything else you need to know is probably apparent in my writing.
