MJ's Bio

I'm Michael, 22, and I am writing reports because I love writting about sport.

In high school, whenever I got a chance to write something sport related, I did.

After getting emails from the staff here at bleacher report, I will now write about AFL (Australian football), as well as hockey, which might sound strange as I live in Melbourne, Australia, but over the last few years I've really gotten into hockey. I follow the Calgary Flames, but generally I root for the underdogs in any game.

  1. Yeah, I meant our summer, so I can (and will) watch after the Cup is hoisted--thanks for the tips!

  2. That explains the "mate" tag at the end of your sentences--I had thought you were Canadian, but I guess you woulda been sayin' "eh" then! I have watched the sport, and respect it, but have not gotten into it. Doesn't it play in the summer? 'Cause I have become disinterested in baseball, and that would give me something to fill the void between the end of hockey and the beginning of American football.

As for Avery, I completely agree that he is good for the team and combines both skill and that instigator quality. I just don't like him because I feel he is bad for hockey.

  3. Thanks for the note, brother from a different mother! (If your middle name is Joseph too, thast's just freaky!)
Love that you list players from so many teams (vehemently disagree on Avery, but not since the Brodeur thing, since the generalizations he made in LA about other players), and I really love that you list Aussie rules guys! If they weren't real I wouldn't know 'cause I never got into that, but I respect people who seek out stuff outside the mainstream!

  4. I liked the alliteration, but adding the last name makes it more search-engine friendly. Feel free to change it back if you like.

  5. Hey! thanks for post!

  6. Hey MJ,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend MJ!
