About

I grew up just southwest of Flint, Michigan in a small town called Owosso. At age 19 I joined the US Air Force to be a software engineer. In 2007 I got stationed at Scott Air Force Base, IL just to the east of St. Louis, MO where I currently reside with my wife Carrie, my daughter Sydney, and our dog Molly. In 2009 I deployed for 9 months to Afghanistan as part of a reconstruction team that gave aide and support to residents of the Paktya province.

I'm working on my degree in Computer Information Technology but what started out as a hobby is steadily becoming my dream; I would love nothing more than to write about sports and get paid to do it.

I deeply appreciate everyone that reads my articles, analysis, and opinions and I encourage constructive criticism in regards to my writing so feel free to comment away. Just try to be polite and professional (a rare commodity to find on the internet, I know) and I will do the same. Be rude or unhelpful and, once again, I will do the same.

SEC media policy makes it hard on fans, freelance journalists (of which many B/R writers are both). Thoughts?

What do you think about Rodriguez changing the tradition at UM and putting the #1 jersey on defense? I personally thought it was stupid and took away from the excitement wideouts who look forward to battling for the top spot, getting that distinction.

I wish Rich would not have put so much stock in landing Pryor. By doing that he handicapped the QB position when we failed to sign him. Let's hope he recruits like he did at West Virginia.

Thanks for fixing that mistake. I think I saw a chart on Heisman Trophy QBs winning national championships and forgot that it didn't include all positions. Just an honest mistake.

Good luck to your Wolverines. I'm looking forward to when they regroup so that my Gators will have a chance for some payback for the past couple losses.

My wife and I coach high school basketball, so I don't have quite as much time in the winter. I am writing "Carrying On About Purdue Basketball" every Friday...this article explains the concept.
