For as long as I can remember, I have been a regular sports junkie. Its that kind of thing when you're a kid and you just happen to wander through the living room while your dad is sitting on the couch watching tv. In my dad's case, more often than not he was watching sports and he had a particularly strong devotion to the Denver Broncos. From the minute that I walked into that room and saw the Broncos on tv for the first time, I was hooked. I have been a major sports aficionado ever since and I have never looked back.
I am a journalism major at the University of Colorado at Boulder and am in my junior year, so I'm already a pretty big CU Buffs fan. As I hinted at earlier, I am a devout follower of the Broncos and I haven't missed a game in six years. Most of my fondest sports memories begin and end with the orange and blue and they are by far my favorite sports team. In addition to football, I'm a huge baseball fan and I love the Rockies and the Red Sox. That was a tough World Series for me to watch in 2007. My other favorite teams include the Avalanche and the Nuggets.
Like many of the other writers on this site, I stumbled across B/R via an advertisement and was instantly intriguied by the possibilities that it presented to me. However, although I love to write about sports and have been a member since January 2009, I have only contributed a few columns between now and then. Life as you know doesn't always go the way you want it, and over that timespan I have had to deal with changes in my life that haven't allowed me to contribute as much as I would like.
New news! That's all about to change. With more free time on my hands and a newfound spark to my journalistic interests, you should be seeing a lot more of me and a lot more of my writing. You might love it, you might hate it, but I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure that I leave a permanent mark on B/R. It's showtime folks!
