Rich's Bio

Now a Colorado State University Alumnus of the Communications Studies Department, this young sportswriter has begun his professional career recently as an editing intern with B/R, and is continuing it as a writer for examiner.com.

His articles for examiner.com can be found here, http://www.examiner.com/x-20849-Colorado-State-Rams-Examiner, and he is the Colorado State University Examiner.

Kurtzman loves sports and has since he was young. He sites growing up in Denver, and being subject to Broncomania when he was very young as when he first fell in love.

Denver Nuggets games at the old McNichol's Arena are some of his fondest memories, along with the opening season at a Rockies game in Old Mile High, the opening seasons of Coors, Pepsi, and New Mile High, which he stresses is not called Invesco.

Kurtzman's long-term dream and goal is to one day work on Sportcenter, starting here on the internet with blogging, ranting/raving and editing.

Originally he wanted to become a newspaper writer like one of his personal heroes Woody Paige of the Denver Post. Now that newspapers are dying, he believes the internet is a great place to start.

And with 125 articles written, over 65,000 reads, 64 fans, an internship with the site, and now a writing job with examiner.com, he was right when first thinking as much in January when he began his writing career. Within those few articles, two have made their way onto cbssports.com thanks to the help of some on the B/R team, which he would like to take this time to give much credit to.

The first CBS syndicated article can be found here, http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/11599655, and the second here,

Broncos 2009 season preview with over 1,000 reads in 12 hours...http://bleacherreport.com/articles/233532-2009-denver-broncos-schedule-predictions-broncos-to-win-afc-west

Rich has recently become a Denver Nuggets featured columnist and all his Nuggets news can be found here. http://bleacherreport.com/denver-nuggets

Kurtzman also said he understands how far he must go before accomplishing his goals, both long-term and short, but is confident he is up to the task.

Lastly, he wants all fans and casual readers alike to let him know (honestly please) what you all think. All criticism helps him become a better writer and in some way you could be helping Rich realize his dreams.

Thank you all,

Rich
