JoeGator 's Bio

I've been around the game of football for many years. Both my father and grandfather played college football, and I played (until an injury ended my brief stint) at a BCS-level school (before the BCS was introduced). My father was a college referee, and I tagged along to some pretty cool venues from an early age. In other words, I have been steeped in football lore throughout my life. I find many others on this board who have also had football as a central family lifetime focus.

I enjoy the many different points of view on the Bleacher Report, and often find insights and info that the bigger media sources miss. I suspect some of the "big boys" go digging for story ideas here though, as BR story lines often appear in major media a few days after I read them here.

  1. Hey, thanks for the comment.

  2. Joe, you're one of my favorites here as far as the Gator beat goes.

I'd love to have you come check out our Gator community at www.gatorenvy.com; Gators First is also a member there as well. We;re a great site for mature Gator sports discussion, and you'd have a LOT to contribute based on what I've seen you post here.

Keep up the good work and GO GATORS!!!!!!

  3. How do I post pictures in the comments?

  4. Thanks man. Appreciate the picked as a favorite!

  5. Joe, looks like Kasa de-committed...

  6. Joe, For those of you that defended Urban Meyer for helping Utah here is something that will show you it is not always done...

Some of you said that Saban would do the same thing if asked, well you were wrong and here is proof.

    http://www.dothaneagle.com/dea/sport...florida/53358/

Here is the important part, a quote from Saban's coach...

Smart, however, said there was a limit on what was exchanged simply because of conference loyalty.

“We intentionally don’t talk about it because that’s an SEC deal,” Smart said. “We’re obviously SEC people.”

I guess the Urban Meyer doesn't see it the same as everyone else does.

  7. Joe, you misunderstand my agenda completely, but it will be revealed to you soon enough.

    See... (Red with Envy) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/sioncampus/01/06/americas-hottest-college-campus-clicks/index.html

    Good Luck Thursday!

  8. "Yeah, and for Gator fans who think Saban is a dirtbag, remember Meyer is 2-0 against the little fella."

    Actually he's only 1-0.

  9. I realized the BCS is better than a play-off, and decided it needed to be defended. I'd love your input.

I'd appreciate it if you had the chance.

  10. Nice attempt at humor with the golf bit, Joe. Unfortunately, you are off base again.

Golf is already almost exactly like the BCS. Golf matches are settled on the field, just like regular season football games (this may come as a surprise to you, but the BCS actually lets college teams play the regular season games to decide who wins).

Golf is like college football used to be. At the end of the year, the players vote and select the PGA Tour Player of the Year. There's no phony two man playoff like the two team playoff we have in college football.

The same childish pressures which forced football to create the BCS NC game caused the PGA Tour to start the phony Fedex Cup playoffs, which have been a total failure.

  11. Hey thanks for the comment Joe

Demps is incredibly fast, like ridiculous.

He is perfect for that Gator offense

He would have to compete with Trindon Holliday too haha
