  1. thanks for the pick of the day vote. "Why I Hate The San Antonio Spurs" was great.

  2. I have Joe Smith on the brain. Second time I've done that. The first time, I caught it before posting.

Thanks for fixing it up for me...

  3. Thanks for the 'article of the day' vote. I will keep my eye out for your new work.

  4. Looking at it Russel played with 5 future hall of fame players over his career. He was on the dynasty but I argue that they only win three without him.

Let us call an end and say that Jordan was the best guard and Russel the best big man.

  5. I am greatly enjoying our Bill Russel and Michael Jordan argument. You make very solid points.

My beef with Jordan is that he had the best cast in town. He had at the time about the fifth best player in the league at SF in Pippen. He had the best rebounder in the league when he played. They didn't need a inside game because they could out rebound everyone and dish it out to Pip or MJ.

I disagree with the Jordan averaging 50 when Russel played. Jordan would not have had the three point line. Defense on the guards was stressed immensely. Basketball was far more physical and Jordan would not have gotten all of his calls.

I also fault Jordan for his gambling scheme. It was reported he bet on basketball before he retired the first time. It is often swept under the rug.

I may be drawing a blank but I do not believe that the early 90's was that competative. The Rockets were back to back but did little else. The Jazz were dominate in the West. I really am having a hard time with the competition if you could throw out some names that would help.

  6. Hey Johnny Weeping,
