Ruth or Mays?
Mays was good but Ruth was great pitching and hitting the ball. Ruth had more home runs, higher batting average, 7 world series championships, and was a pitcher that won 90+ games with an era below 2.5 for his career. He was the best player to ever play the game THE BEST. Even though Willie Mays appeared in 24 all star games, had 12 golden gloves, and 2 regular season MVP's. He played for a long time and he was great but Ruth was better.
-
Unitas or Montana?
Johnny Unitas but watch out for Tom Brady I feel a magical run coming.
-
Jordan or Russell?
Jordan 5 MVP's, 6 Finals MVP's/ 6 more than Russell, 11 NBA teams, 9 Defensive 1st teams, ROY, 6 titles, 30 ppg for career, 1 Defensive Player of Year, 10 scoring titles, and 866 games played consecutively scoring 10 or more points
-
Gretzky or Orr?
They are both great players it's a push but I am a Mario Lemieux guy. Wayne Gretzsky the best offensive hockey player in the history of Hockey. The only player to score over 200 points in a season and he did it 2 times which is quite a feat. Gretzsky was like the Wilt Chaimberlain of hockey but he sustained that production for his career. 4 Stanley Cups, 9 Hart Trophies 8 consecutive, 10 Art Ross Trophies, and 2 Conn Smythe Trophies. Bobby Orr is the best defence man of all time hands down on both ends of the floor. 3 consecutive Hart trophies, 8 consecutive James Norris Trophies, 2 Art Ross and Conn Smyte Trophies. Super Mario would've been the greatest in my opinion if he was more durable, but he had many health problems the most talented player to ever play the game.
-
Pele or Maradona?
Maradona or Pele hmmm tough one but Maradona wins this one by a small margin. Watch out for players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Messi is the second coming of Maradona hopefully not have the same drug problems. If he stays clean he will be the best of all time by far.
-
Federer or Sampras?
Roger Federer or Pete Sampras? Federer more career titles and counting, he is already the best tennis player of all time and he still has a little gas in the tank. When you think he is starting to look too old he kicks in another gear and shows why he is the best of all time. Federer no question, the Michael Jordan on tennis.
-
Tiger or Nicklaus?
Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus this is a tough one Tiger Woods before he had his marriage issues would've been well on the way to passing Nicklaus but he has slowed down considerably, hopefully it is just something that he can get over. Nicklaus is the best of all time until Tiger or someone else can pass him. Tiger does not have far to go but has not been making progress of late.
-
Petty or Earnhardt?
Richard Petty was dominant 200 wins, 120+ poles, 700+ top 10's and well they both have 7 championships. Jimmie Johnson is well on his way to catching these guys and he could finish as the best of all time.
-
Schumacher or Senna?
Michael Schumacher or Ayrton Senna? Schumacher led in more categories because Senna died, but he does led in all meaningful categories wins, pole postions, points, podims, races and most importantly chamionships.
